Okay, without further ado, here is the singing story!
Really, we should start a whole new forum just for me called "Moms say/do the darndest things!". Leigh, see what you can do to get this going for me.
So I'm in the car with B last week. This is before we were sick. Nice day, windows down, TONS of construction all over my part of the state. B was whining about something or other and I was trying to entertain her. We were stopped at a construction site by a man holding a flag while some backhoe did something with a bunch of dirt. My kids are fascinated by all of this and ask lots of detailed questions. Me? I'm just lucky to remember the names of all the different machines, much less what they're doing.
Anyway, there were several workers milling about, I'm not moving and B is whining. ABBA's "Take a Chance on Me" came on the radio, so I turned it up and started belting out the lyrics to entertain B. Suddenly, I hear a trio of falsetto male voices chanting "Take a chance on meeeee". Startled, I look over and see three large dudes cracking up laughing and pointing at us. They heard me singing and were obviously, um, impressed by my vocal talent. *note the sarcasm*
That's me. I don't get whistles, catcalls and/or sexually inappropriate comments from construction workers. I am the only woman in America who gets MADE FUN OF by them. *hangs head in shame*

LOL
Mary, I am ashamed to say that has happened to me before too... except it was the Beatles. Hunter LOVES the Beatles and loves to sing to them... so in an attempt to make him happy I was being goofy and singing "I wanna hold your hand...." really loudly... and then remembered his window was down and a large group of really good looking men were staring at me, laughing their hineys off
My story is, of cours,e not NEARLY as amusing as yours though, because well... its you! lok

At least it was ABBA, Mary. The last time I got caught singing my lungs out to keep Brenna entertained, it was The Wonder Pets PeePee song. Umm, yeah, burned that CD.

AHHHHHHHHHH! OMG! Mary!! ABBA!?!?!
When ever Eric needs to get a poke or something ouchy, he wants me to sing the funny twinkle song for him to make him laugh.
(to the tune of Twinkle twinkle little star)
Twinkle twinkle little poop
How I wonder what you fart
Up above the world so high
like a poopy in the sky
Twinkle twinkle little poop
Pee pee pee fart poop poop poop
IVs are the worst because they take so long and I have to go at least 2 or 3 rounds.
Most find it "cute" but some are seriously grossed out by it and I get that crappy, "inappropriate Mom" look.
Seriously I wish I would have never started it, but way back then I didn't think we'd be doing so much testing that it would create a habit

You guys are hilarious! I think they should just make a thread titled "The Adventures of Mary"! Heck, at this point, we could write a book! Maybe even a movie! ROFL!
Re: Okay, without further ado, here is the singing story!
I guess I have to thank my kids for protecting me. I was singing my heart out along with Raffi the other day and Sebastian asked me to please stop singing, cuz I was stessing him out.
