Over the past few weeks, Payton has been saying odd things about what he sees. I'm going to try my best to describe this...

About a month ago, he was in the car with me and he says "Mama, I'm making colors for you, see?" I looked back and he was slowly turning his head from side to side and he looked a bit zoned out.

Over the past two weeks, he's been talking about hearing colors and has been pointing out "colors" that are not there.

Last night and tonight he has been talking about a white circle on him and pointing to his forehead, just between and slightly above his eyes - what and where people refer to "the third eye". He asked me tonight to see if I could take it off. I went through the motions of peeling it off and making it disappear, but he said it was still there. And then he said he wanted to go to bed. That is not like him.

Since August, his behavior has been going downhill. He talks constantly about "sad" and "angry" and "hitting" and just tonight he said he wanted to pull my hair out, but he said it sweetly like he was talking to a kitten or something. It kind of freaked me out a bit. He's been random and been throwing little tantrums (nothing full blown that I can't divert him from) and being generally disagreable. This is NOT like him. He has also spoken of ghosts, but I think that has to do with Halloween and the wristbands they have at the local indoor climbing structure (they have white ghosts on a black background), but he has become obsessed with "hearing" ghosts and being in the dark. He likes it pitch black to sleep.

His father and I are in the middle of revisions for child sharing and child support and it's gotten to the point where I've stopped all communications with him and everything has been refered to my lawyer. I NEVER EVER EVER let Payton see any of my frustration with the situation EVER. I never speak poorly of his father and always try to get him excited to go. It's a bit of a mess - the explanation is extremely complicated. I kind of gave you all the run-down in the R-Rated forum. I know kiddos are sensitve about general moods and pick up on everything, but I have made sure this is NOT discussed when he is around in my home. I have no idea what his father is doing, however.

But back to the colors thing... It's freaking me out - along with a marked change in his behavior that is getting increasingly negative. His teacher have talked to me about it. He has also been VERY clingy with me. He doesn't want me out of his sight.

I'm going to call his doctor tomorrow and make an appointment. I'm thinking its possibly one of a few things.
- His vision is wonky and he needs glasses of some sort. I think he may be a bit color blind too. He mixes up colors - his teachers have also commented on this, but then sometimes he gets them right. What is weird is that it is always the same colors. Red/green and blue and something else - I forget right now. But then he will get them completley correct some days. He's good with the odd colors like pink and purple.
- When he was little he had a lypoma on his pituitary glad - it was found on a head CT during one of his hospital stays during his diagnosing process. I'm wondering if it has gotten bigger and is making his vision wierd or he is seeing things and it is also affecting his behavior because he's becoming increasingly confused. (This is the one I'm worried about.)
- It could possibly be him just going through his shapes and colors like they are at school and it's nothing. Just him being a four year old.
- He could be getting affected by the visitation case with his father in a negative way.
- The behaviors could be attention-getting tactics because he is insecure and that is just what little boys do.

Any thoughts on this would be greatly appreciated.
