Justin tonight for the first time since his second fundo four years ago has vomited past his fundo. I felt so bad for him because he just kept bringing things up in little episodes.
He has not been able to vomit past his fundo since it was done. He does retch all the time but tonight he just got sick. He was complaining as usual that his stomach hurt then just started bringing up his dinner. He said that the food went all the way down and then came right back up.
He til this day gets food lodged and then will bring it up before it ever enters the stomach but tonight it went all the way down. I dont know what to think so will have to wait and see what happens tomorrow. I am hoping that this is a fluke and not will the norm. For now all I will have to do is sit and wait.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear that Melanie! :smt056 Hopefully, you are right and it is just some type of fluke or an extra hard retch? Keep me posted. Our GI says a perfect is one that keeps things down but if you absolutely have to throw up, you can. So, maybe that is a good thing? Just trying to think positive here. (((hugs))) keep me posted!

Melanie, I, too, hope it's a fluke--but if he's really sick, maybe it's a good thing that he was able to bring it up instead of having to wait for it to pass the other way and being miserable while waiting. How sad is it that we have to hope it's an illness and not "just reflux."?? Good luck.

I would like to thank you all for your concern. Today is still the same he is not keeping anything down. It is weird to see him actually vomit because it has been so long since he has been able to do so. I am so used to him retching only and then having to vent him to remove the stuff from his stomach. We are waiting til tomorrow to see how he is feeling and then will decide if he needs to start the pump again. I do have a call into the gi doc to see if we should be worried that he can now vomit past the fundo. Will update when hear anything.

Justin, is starting to feel better and has stopped vomitting finally. He was able to start eating clear liquids yesterday and has moved to a soft diet today.
The gi called back yesterday and really said didnt know why he is vomitting past his fundo. At this point since he stopped we will just sit back and see what happens. He did say that it will be something that will need to be watched.
I also forgot to say that he was started on levisin hoping that it will help. He did use it on Tues,Wed,and Thurs and it seemed to finally help. So for now it will be a sit and wait game. I am hoping that it will be a fluke and not happen again. Thank you everyone for your support.

:smt056 I am sure you are very frustrated. We don't like the sit back and wait approach! I am glad he is feeling better and hopefully it was just a freak incident, poor guy!
Let me know of any changes.
