My ds is 3 months old and is nursed while I am at home, and receives EBM in a bottle while I am at work. I have noticed lately that he only wants to "snack" when he nurses, and when he takes a BM in a bottle he will only take a few ounces, but then wants to eat in a few hours. At night, he has been nursing every few hours (which makes me one tired mommy!). I think it must have something to do with his reflux. Any one have babies like this?

Oh, boy, I used to! Bethy was a snacker for the longest time. Everyone here heard me complain about getting no sleep for months, as she would want to nurse a little bit every hour or so...all day and night!
Once her GERD was better controlled, she began eating for longer stretches (and going for longer periods between meals). Both the ped and the feeding specialist told me that this was largely due to her discomfort...and they theorized that the b'milk was very soothing on her sore little esophagas.
It is exhausting, but unless your doc has concerns about weight gain, etc. I would *assume* that your little guy might be doing the same thing.

Evan was the same way, but even now that he's weaned, he doesn't take more than 5 (if that) ozs at a time from a bottle. Part of it was that bm is a natural antacid and it feels good, but we also think he has a high metabolism too. He still gets a bottle 1-2x a night.

Yeah,
It's fairly common for a refluxer to do this. It's healthy for them too. Not saying that it's fun to feed your baby every hour. UGH! Been there done that and don't want to do it again!

You've done so well to get this far and I give you great credit for that! Evan was a snacker too. He'd go through a pattern of 30 seconds on, 2 minutes off, 20 seconds on, 20 seconds off. With a toddler at home at the time, it was just too hard for me to continue. He didn't take more than 2 oz. per feed until after his 2nd birthday.
