Connor is taking 1/2 of a 20mg Nexium pill and it is such a pain to try to divide the dose! The little beads just go rolling all over the place I find myself cursing the medicine every morning. Does anyone know if Nexium comes in 10mg? wouldn't that be the same as giving him half of a 20 mg pill?

I really do not know. I use nexxium personally but it is a tablet, so I am unfamiliar with the beaded form. My experience with beads for the kids is with prevacid and we never have had to divide the dose. Since it is a capsule with beads I would imagine you really can not accurately divide the dose and would be better off with a suspension. Having said that, suspensions can be very unstable and you need a really good pharmacist to make one that is good for you.

From what I can see, it does not come in a 10mg form, but I could be wrong.

I had both kids on Nexium and I don't think they make a 10mg capsule..I also had to divide the 20 and save the other 10 in a jar..I always felt like he must have lost meds this way..I also didn't like that the amount he actually got must have varied from day to day
BUT if it works..I say keep splitting the 20mg..

Nope, unfortunately Nexium only comes in 20 and 40 mg. I got to be a real pro at dividing them equally.

Do you guys have any advice on a good way to divide them? Where did you store the other half? I have been trying to get them back into the little pill and it's driving me nuts!

I would take 2 tiny GLASS bowls (if i tried plastic tupperware they would stick)
I open the capsule and empty it in 1 glass jar, then divide it between the 2 jars..50/50 as best I can and just put the other half in the kitchen cabinet until later or the next day
