So I was writing about Owen's reflux acting up and now having the runny nose and watery eyes. Now I'm really suspecting it is a allergy to the juice he drank. I'm so sick and tired of this all and I just want to be able to give him what other normal kids can eat and drink with no problems.
He has an appointment next week on the 1st and I will ask if they can go ahead and check him for allergies. I'm just so done with the trial and error. Today he has such a horrible diaper rash again that he was screaming the whole time I changed his diaper.
He was also arching his back in the highchair the whole time during dinner and was just crying and crying. But he so badly wanted to eat and wouldn't stop putting food in his mouth, as soon as he swallowed though he arched and cried.

Grrr, I'm just so tired of all this crap right now. Thanks for letting me vent, I just hate to see him in so much pain. :smt022

It's so difficult to try to figure out what's going on, isn't it? When the kids can't tell you what hurts (and the doctors don't know a lot about GERD and related issues) it becomes a huge, frustrating guessing game.

I do hope that you're able to get some answers at your next appointment. Out of curiosity, what was the juice you think he reacted to?

Thanks Mary, I hope we can find some answers after the appointment too.
The juice is from the german store, it said apple and banana. It's more meant for a snack, has wheat in it and is thicker than regular juice. Well when I looked at the ingredients though I saw that it has pineapple in it too:banghead: . So I don't know if it was the pineapple or maybe even the wheat. Gosh I just hate to guess what could cause a reaction all the time.

Ugh...I am learning to read all the fine print on labels now that we know Bethany has MSPI. I would never have thought, though, that a juice would have WHEAT in it!

You're right--could have been the pineapple or the wheat...or both. I really hope he starts to feel better right away! Let us know what you find out at your appt. It will be interesting to hear what your doctor has to say.

Oh no! Poor Owen. I'm with you on just wanting to feed Noah normal baby food with no worries. Its so darn frustrating. Hang in there. And I hope that appointment can shed some light on what's going on with Owen. Let us know how he's doing!

He was up from 11pm until almost 2am, grrrrr. And than when I finally was in bed I got woken up, because Jonathan was crying and had a bad dream.
He seems to be doing ok right now, the rash is almost all gone again. He refluxes more than usual but it doesn't seem to bother him at the moment.
