I have Curran who is 4 and on zantac and prevacid. Has been refluxing all his life and with chernobyl poops for over 2 years now, but hey at least he started to get medicated last spring for it all.... :banghead: Anyway, I am not sure what is going on as we are in the process of chaging GIs as my last one is convinced mineral oil or lactulose by the buckets will cure him. I see our ped for a full checkup this Friday and our new GI in the fall.

Curran may have GERD related asthma as well. He has flovent and ventilon to add when he is going chesty with things. And although I am supposed to be giving him lactulose by the gallon my ped told me to stop and ignore my GI who does not believe GERD is painful nor that allergies cause intestinal issues. He carries an epi pen for peanut and treenut allergy.

Walker has always had a ton of infections and our ped wants to investigate him even though he seems fine as he has a fequently hoarse voice and tons of throat infections (we are having yet another bout of strep here again.) I know that he was for sure a sufferer as a baby and toddler complete with blue episodes, but only occassional hints as a child. He is on no meds other than the truckload of antibiotics I seem to need on a frequent basis here in the house. Maybe I will have an answer to this as my ped will have a stroke when she realizes we have added yet another throat infection to the mix. It could just be his huge tonsils are the issue too, I do not know. She says she wants to check him out even though I do not see it in him the same as the other two. Stay tuned. **rolling eyes**

I have four kids over the age of 4 and all still have reflux to some degree.

Justin is 13yrs old and still refluxs even past a second fundo. He is currently on prevacid and domperdione.

Erica will be 11yrs old and still refluxes past her fundo. She is presently on nexium.

Brandon is 7yrs old and also refluxs past his fundo. He is presently on prevacid, reglan and gastrocrome.

Dylan is 4yrs old and has been off meds now for a year. He has really started to show signs of reflux again these past few months and will probably end up on meds again. We see the gi doc in feb.

Evan's 4th birthday is just around the corner. He takes Losec and Domperidone daily, and Flovent, Salbutamol and Nasonex as needed. Glad you stopped by, Katy! It's been great "chatting" with you today!

Chelsea will be 4 in 2 months.....she is refluxing past her 2nd fundo and we are having a lot of problems with it now :banghead: .

She takes 30 mg of prevacid, 3 mls of pepcid, 2 mls of nortriptyine, rhinocort nasal spray, achew allergy pill, atrovent, xoponex, and probably pulmicort again now that she is needing her nebulizer so often again :banghead: . So this face over here really reflects my feelings right now as you can see.

I should antibiotics to it since she can't seem to go more than a few weeks without a sinus infection!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Oh, Noah's 6 years old and is on: Prevacid 30mg 2 times a day, Zantac150, no more Neurontin & Nortryptoline for right now. He is also on Melatonin & Adavant for sleep (which doesn't work) I am sure his meds will all be changing after our stay @ CHOC at the end of the week. He is getting a Bravo probe done Friday, but will be admitted Thursday for his PICC Line placement and so he can FINALLY be seen by a half way un-crazy ENT as well as Infectious Disease's for his problem with all the antibiotics. We are going to ask for Ambien for sleep for sure..Not sure what meds we will ask for to replace the Neurontin & Nortryptoline.

I have used ambien. I really really liked it. It made me giddy then sleepy and I woke with no problems. Even thought I was woken a few times in the night my little ones.

I have one 5 year old that is still a GERDling. She is on carafate and we are going to put her back on Zantac come Jan 31 (at the well check visit)

Melenie, I wonder if you have seen any long term effect to 13 years of reflux. Not counting the reflux effects. I have been so worried about the effects of the malnutrition my DD suffered for 3 years. She seems to be doing well academically but socially she is very timid and shy (more then what I would consider "normal") Right now we are dealing with a major problem with her being around the boys in her pre - school. she is petrafied. OK this is a totally different subject-Sorry Katy.

Molly is 6 1/2 (that 1/2 is VERY important to her!). She is currently on 40mg Nexium and 20mg of Reglan, 4 months post fundo. Our decongestant of choice is Extendryl and it has been a God send! She is in the 1st grade and doing exceedingly well - one good thing in all of this is that she doesn't "look" sick. She is just as big and strong as the other kids and her teacher (also a God send!!!!) is very non-chalant about giving her meds and dealing with her issues. She has a niece and nephew who have both gone through this (complete with fundos!) and she is very understanding and compassionate. We love her.
