I have seen some posts about mucus in stools. Joey has had mucus in his in the past but lately it has gotten weird. Last week he had some with (for lack of a better description) lime green mucous and last night it was bloody mucus. Not a lot of blood but enough to know thats what it was. It still seems mucusy a little today but not bloody. Anyone know anything about this.

Hi,
Minnie gave some great links... Just wanted to say that mucousy, bloody stools usually means allergy, so definitely talk to your doc about it... Hopefully, if you find out what food(s) is causing the problem, he will feel better and you will see normal poops. Hope you get some answers!

Thanks ladies. We have our 1st GI appt Thursday and I'll be sure to bring it up.

Yes. Definitely bring it up. Better yet, put one of the diapers from Wednesday in a ziplock baggie and bring it along just in case the GI wants to see it.
You might have to double-bag it, if it's a smelly one. I didn't double-bag one of Emma's poopy diapers when I went to the ped and everyone in the waiting room was staring at me like I smelled like, well...you know. ;)
Ditto everyone else--very strong indication that there's likely an allergy. Glad you have an app't with a GI--let us know how it goes!

Bethanysmommy,
I see our little ones are close in age. Joey's birthdate it 11/15/04. Do you mind if I ask how big she is? Joey was 16lbs 12oz a couple weeks ago when it was checked and I know this is little but I just wanted to compare him to another refluxer if possible.

No worries. Bethany is 28.5 inches long and just a hair under 19 lb. She has been stalled in height and weight for the past 6.5 months (she was a chubby little thing before!).
How tall is Joey? Was he a small baby to begin with?

Joey was almost 29 inches at his 12 month check up, I don't think we've checked it since then. He was 6lbs 12 oz at birth and his wieght gain stopped suddenly at 9 months. His height seems to be on a downward trend
