I need some advice on Prilosec. My daughter is 11.5 lbs and is on 3 ml 2x day. Her GI said 12 hrs apart. Any suggestions on when to give and could her dose be more? She is still very fussy and we see no improvement. Does it take awhile to get better?

When Noah was on Prilosec, I gave him his first dose around 7 am, right when he woke up. Then, gave the last dose right before his bath, at 7:30. He responded within a few days, but it can take up to two weeks I believe...to see all the benefits.
I moved your post to make it a new thread in the "Questions" section (instead of as a reply to another). This way, hopefully more people will see it. :iconbigg:
My dd currently takes Prilosec and we were advised to give it on an empty stomach and to have her eat 45 minutes afterward (after naptime and first thing in the morning usually work best for us). I don't know what the dosage for a baby your daughter's size would be--perhaps someone else does...?
How long has she been on the Prilosec?

She has only been on it 1 1/2 days. She is alot fussier on it and I'm not sure how to make it better for her.

Well, Prilosec changed our lives... we saw a differnece wihtin 2 days. It was incredible. I have to say that it can take longer, adn it may be that the dose isn't enough or another med may need to be tried. You need to give at least 2-3 weeks to see.....
We gave his doses at 6am and 6pm (and now- with the capsules, it's with breakie at 8am and dinner at 5pm).

Owen is on Prilosec and it took about a week for him to get better with his reflux. Now he is totally changed and such a happy baby most of the time. About the dose, Owen takes 3ml twice a day. How much mg per ml does it have? Owen's is 2mg/1ml so he gets all together 12mg of Prilosec a day.
I hope that helped you.

Lauren is on her 2nd full day of Prilosec and has now went from silent reflux to projectile. What should I do?

Is there anyone in WI that has any suggestions of Dr. or even other thoughts on resources in our area.

The best time to give prilosec is on an empty stomach--give it at least 2 weeks to see if it helps. We saw results after about 3 days

Did it make things worse before the 3 day mark? She is also eating non-stop.
