Hi! My daughter, Allyson, is 8 weeks old. She has been on Zantac for 3 weeks and then went for an UGI and they put her on Reglan last Thursday (2x/day). I didn't see a change...actually she seems worse...they then changed Reglan to 4x/day. I see a huge change in my daughter's personality...she is so fussy all the time now...difficult to console...crying often. Anybody had a change like this upon introduction of Reglan? ANy other meds that have been successful?

Owen was really cranky and cried almost all day on Reglan. After we took him off he was doing a lot better again. His ped said it could've caused him stomach cramps and that's why he reacted like that.
I would take her off and see how she does, if it improves go and talk to her pediatrician about it.
Hope she feels better soon.

My dd had the same thing with the Reglan but it eased up after about 2 wks. I believe her body had to adjust to it. I think it caused stomach cramps as well but to a lesser extent than the bethanochol did.

Owen was on it for a while before we found out that it actually was the Reglan causing him all this discomfort.

I dont have any experience with it myself but heard a lot of mom's complaining about irritability...
Hope that helps! :)

Hi babyally,
We have a lot in common. I live in Delaware. I am a speech pathologist. My refluxer's name is Ali.
Here is a link regarding some side effects associated with Reglan

It has some possible behavioral side effects.
It made Eric VERY angry and agitated. He only got 2 doses, and thankfully it wore off within 6 hours.

Yes, Ian was very irritable on Reglan. We ended up using bethanechol for several months.
I took Reglan while pregnant and it made me miserable. My head pounded, my hands tremored and I felt like I was going to crawl out of my skin. I remember calling my mom crying because the anxiety was so bad.

Alot of kids can't tolerate it. Since it crosses the blood brain barrier it can have more side effects like irritability. reglan didn't help Sarah so we stopped it.
