Ok, after the Prevacid kicks in, do I take him off of the Zantac?:confused: I know that is what the dr. wants me to do. Will he have a flare up?? :confused:
I'm also curious about the amount they have him on. I need some input....
he weighs 15 lb. they want him to take 6ml twice a day. Is that low? :smt102 I also have to MIX it! I'm not too happy about that. I mixed some earlier and there are still little pieces that didn't mix. YUCK! I really hope that he doesn't gag on it. He takes his Zantac, but he doesn't like it! :tongue6:
We have had a NO NAP DAY!:shock: He hasn't napped for more than 45 min. all day. AAUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm starting the Prevacid tonight before his last bedtime bottle. I hope that it starts doing the trick!

Maya is only on prevacid and not Zantac as well, but I know different GI's have different views on this subject. Our first GI said that if you used a PPI that it was absolutely unecessary to use Zantac as well. Our new GI believe that they can sometimes work well together although he will not put Maya on both as he believes this is not getting to the underlying cause in her case the MSPI. What he told us was that a PPI only cuts stomach acid production by 80% and that in his opinion Zantac was actually better at dealing with pain issues.

well my dr. doesn't want me staying on the Zantac, but from reading around here, moms said that it takes a while for the new med. to kick in and so that way you won't have any fussiness.

Zac was off zantac when he started prevacid. You have to mix it? What form is this? I've only heard of mg form (powder or solutabs) maybe the suspension form?

Packets, I guess it is suspension. I get one days worth out of 1 packet. Everyday I have to mix a new one.:smt087 What is Zac's dosage? Did it take a while for the Prevacid to work after the Zantac?:???:

Owen was on Zantac and than was switched to Prilosec at 6 months old. But we stopped the Zantac right than. He wasn't too fussy though.
