Just curious. I know of some already, but I am wondering how many there are. Chronic irritation of the esophagus and intestines make our GERDlings suseptible to allergies.

We are trying to find out on own some allergies and intolerances for the family via a multiple food elimination diet, but I already know that Curran has a positive RAST for peanut and tree nut (carries epipen) and one for milk, albeit a low one.

Iain has had skin prick test, RAST, and biopsies all of which say he is non allergic at this point. Yay!

Walker has only had SPT and I feel he has some food issues as well. This diet may help us figure that out.

This is all in my siggy, but here goes. I have a drug allergy and a latex sensitivity. AJ has the same drug allergy and is sensitive to dairy (he can have cheese) and is soy free, he outgrew eggs. Evan is allergic to soy, pea, and wheat (should hear back tomorrow about the epi pen) and intolerant to turkey, egg, dairy, mango, raspberry, olive oil, potatos, squash, and we're assuming peanuts as he has 2 others in that family he's allergic to. Possibly cashews which is a tree nut since mango is in that family. He's had all negative SPTs, but positive patch tests to the wheat, soy, and pea. His wheat reaction is worsening we think though. :( He's on formula only right now and we're hoping to start foods next week.

Hi, I think that Jackson is either allergic to milk or lactose intolerant. (These are different, right):smt017 Anyway, I'm not sure, but something! He was on Nutramigen, the dr. said that since we figured out that he has acid reflux to put him back on Enfamil with iron. Four days after switching it, he started absolutely refusing to eat, screaming, wouldn't even put the bottle in his mouth, his congestion got 100x's worse and his eyes started running. I switched him back to Nutramigen and the first Nutramigen bottle he took without any fuss and was better in a day!

Trey had a lot of food allergies as an infant/toddler, primarily dairy, pineapple and anything with nitrates in it. He's outgrown everything except pecans. I have him skin pricked every other year.

Catherine, I'm convinced, is intolerant to milk and soy no matter what her biopsies come back saying. Her RAST was negative to both.

Yes,there is a difference. An intolerance or allergy deals w/the milk protein, lactose intolerance deals w/ the milk sugar. Nutramigen is milk based so it still has lactose in it so you know since he does well on that it's not a lactose issue, but probably a milk protein intolerance. Only about 1 in 60,000 babies have lactose intolerance issues. Have you tried soy?

Yes, we tried soy, couldn't tell a whole lot of difference. He is doing so well now on Nutramigen that I hate to switch right now. So, since it is milk based, could he still be allergic to milk?

Yes, Nutramigen and Alimentum are made of hydrolyzed proteins. About 90% of allergic or intolerant kiddos can handle these frmulas just fine. AJ could (the one weekend we got some in him), but Evan can't. He's on Neocate which is completely dairy/soy free.

I'm allergic to dust, mould, grass, some pollen, cat and dog dander, and dairy. Dh has evironmental allergies, and Brandon has a drug allergy.
