Austin is currently taking between 5-6 oz bottles at a time at 2 months old. He eats every 3 hours. I am wondering if I am feeding him too much. For a few days I tried just making him wait at least 4 hours or longer for his feeds and he seemed to puke less but it is so hard making him wait while he is crying and hungry. If we try to give him less than 5 oz bottles he sucks it down in no time and is still acting hungry and trying to eat his pacifier. If he eats sooner than 3 hours or 3 hours on the dot he tends to puke more. Did any of your babies eat that much this little?

Moving this to the Feeding forum, you might get more responses there :)

I think Brandon might have been by then, but can't remember for sure. Evan certainly wasn't though. He was too sick and still undiagnosed. I personally think that if he needs it, he just does. It sounds normal to me.

Noah did not take that amount at that age, but we did have the problem stalling between bottles also. We we never very strict about trying to stall, but if he is puking more, I guess you really need a solution. If you increase the bottle to 7 ounces, will he puke more, or could that help him to last longer between feeds? Just an idea.
He'll probably puke more at 7 oz because his puking got worse when we went to 6. Now last night he would not go to sleep and was acting hungry but would only take 2 oz and it made him fall asleep. Of course he didn't sleep real well last night and you could tell he was just absolutely miserable.

My healthy little one was taking 6 oz. bottles every 3 hours, averaging beteen 30-38 ozs. per day at 2 mos. Babies are good regulators of what they need. It could be a growth spurt. My refluxer never liked big feeds like that, until she stopped puking just last month. She was fed 4 oz. feeds until 11 mos. Now at 1 year, she can handle 6 oz. feeds. If Austin is handling the 6 oz. bottles every three hours, go ahead an accomodate. He probably needs it.
