I have notice that Zoee is showing signs of being delay in her speech as well.She is at about 8 word for being 19 months. I have told Hobbes' Speech therpist(sp sorry can't spell today) about my concerns and she is going to screen Zoee when she has worked with Hobbes abit. His first sessions is on the 20th. But I guess that her or the Child developement worker has passed by concerns on to the Special needs director who has invited me to a 6 week session on Mondays for children showing signs of speech delays so I will be able to start sooner working with Zoee than what we were able to do with Hobbes. It is nice that someone is taking notice to my concerns with Zoee's speech. I wish that someone had listened when it was about Hobbes. So starting on January 30, I would be doing speech session witha speech pathologiacl for Zoee which should work great for Hobbes as well.

You are such a great mom. It is so easy to want to be in denile. Boy us GERDling mommies sure learn to take the bull by the horns! I hope for your and Zoee sake that she response quickly to the therapy. Buy really, Shannon, I am so impressed that you were so quick to notice and respond to Zoee. And get everyone else to respond so quickly too.

Since we had been around the block with Walker we were very fast with Iain. He is supposed to be in the next block for SLP and that is anytime now. Too bad one child has to wait so long and then they listen to you for another one!

Good for you for having it taken care of so fast, Shannon. We are still way behind with Iain but have been working with him. He is making far more noise and some words are starting now. At this age Walker was still even further behind than Iain is, so I am taking this to be a good sign that we noticed it early. Same will likely hold true for Zoee.

Hobbes is up to about 20 words now. He even surprise us witha three word sentence which had the words repeated when he said them but they were three word sentences!" it was MOMMMA, MOMMMMA, MOMMMA , DADADA< DADADA, DADADA, BYE BYE BYE" He is trying hard every day. Alot of it is just repeating what we are saying one word at a time but I will take it !
