OK ... poop never smells GOOD, but in the 2+ weeks Catherine has been on soy, her poop is downright noxious! :tongue6: As in the trash has to be taken out immediately if there's a poopy diaper in it. Her diet has not changed at all other than being dairy-free. She still eats only plain fruits, veggies and oatmeal. Even on Alimentum, her diapers were never as rank as these! And it's every single one of them, not just one here and there.

And while we're (I'm) on this subject ... how many times is it going to take me to learn to put the poopy diaper out of her reach so she doesn't dump out the rabbit pellets onto the floor????? Ugh! You'd think I'd learn by now!

Sorry for the delay in responding, Lesley.

When you have a diet change things often go a bit "wonky" in the digestive system so hopefully your smelly poop will settle down. Ok, that is the hope but in reality I wonder about the rabbit poops as it signifies constipation and maybe some run off poop building up inside and contributing to the smell. Any signs of mucous at all? Any softer stools from time to time or downright nasty liquidy ones?

Nope! Only the size of the ... uh ... output changes. Rabbit pellets to smushed golf balls.

Any new changes at all in diet? If not you may have been "spoiled" with the alimentum poops. Sorry, but often they can be a lot less offensive due to it being broken down more. I was so shocked when I had Curran giving me those beautiful BF stools and then those nasty formula ones at the same time. What a difference!

How long has she been on the soy now?

A little over two weeks.

Noah's got terribly nasty when we switched back to milk-based, but they don't seem as bad anymore.

They may still improve as it has been only two weeks. Hopefully you will see a difference in the next couple of weeks if there is going to be a change.

Nada. If anything, its getting worse. Drier and fewer pellets each time. GI appt today so I'll ask about it.

So, how did you get on?? Poop still the same?? I have been so lucky.. Matthew poop returned to "meatloaf" and has been like that for ages. Now that I have (just) introduced a teeny amount of cow's milk to their diet.. we're back to those little bullets **sigh**

Still putting out the rabbit pellets. Except for her massive blowout yesterday. I think I poisoned her with a miniscule amount of boysenberry sorbet.

I seriously doubt you poisoned her. Then again, maybe. LOL

I know it is not funny as she seems to have something definately going on. I need to check your other post, but she has a red anal ring, too? Classic yeast problem, by the way. Iain and Curran used to get that due to antibiotics all the time. Likely what her problem is. Give her some acidophilus for awhile and some monistat or what have you.

A red anal ring is a sign of a food allergy. That coupled with her one hive and the sprinkling of rash across her her shoulder blades make me think she ate something she shouldn't have. Which her babysitter swears is not possible. But that's a whole other story ...

It was either something there that she picke up off the floor or the boysenberry.

It can also be yeast infection. Based on her hives I would say she is likely showing signs of an allergy, too. I would still try some yeast treatment for the little red butthole and see if it clears it up.

On her shoulders now? Wow. She must have got into something for sure. Do you think your sitter does not keep a good enough eye on her? How are the hives tonight?

The soy pellets!!!
I remember those!
Actually hard constipation soy formula poopies smell a heck of a lot worse that the normal or even the runny ones do. So get that girl poopin' (I know easier said than done, and it really sucks)

Lately it's been a lotto again as far as what we get, and my DH still hasn't caught on to the whole thing. He'll change a few (Don't get too jealous girls. This happens only on the week ends, and only if he's kissin' butt because he is about to or already has done something wrong) really messy gross ones, and then "UGH! You change THIS one it smells horrible!!!!! I'm done for the day!" Then he gags as he walks out the room. Then all I have to do is change pellet pooh. Yes, it stinks (not as bad as soy) but wam bam done!!! And with my hyper diaper change hating boy the quicker the better.

Catherine actually had another blowout this morning, her babysitter just reported. All the way up her back. She had a rash that lasted about 15 minutes everywhere the poop touched.
