Sarah has now pretty much refused to drink while sitting on my lap. I am now trying floor feeding before I resort to sleep feeds. It takes alot of distracton and she seems to be sucking just because she is lying on the floor and pretty much has to swallow. She twists and turns alot but has taken a 5 ounce bottle this way completely awake for the first time ever. Do you think this is ok? It seems like feeding her flat on the floor is not really good for reflux. I try to elevate her head on the floor but it seems to make it more difficult to feed her. She also seems to get alittle stuff nose from eating this way. Do you guys think it is ok to feed her this way or would sleep feeding be better?

I would keep trying the (awake) floor feeding, so that she learns to feed while awake. That way you won't have to retrain her later.

Emma used to prefer lying in her boppy, or on the floor, while I held her bottle and read her a book, (I felt like I needed an extra pair of arms, but if it gets the ounces in...:-D ).

Lately, Emma wants to be held to feed, (probably b/c she's been sick), and refuses to feed anywhere else but in my arms.

Catherine has taken every single bottle, since she was about six months old, flat on her back on the floor. She fights like a mad woman if you try to hold her and feed her.

Noah went through a phase where he would not feed in my lap. He had to be propped on a pillow on the bed. I would do what works. Just keep her elevated for a 1/2 hour or so after the bottle. That's imperative for Noah.
