Or if you want it to still look like food, all pasta would be soft. Spaghetti squash, baked sweet or white potatoes, meat cooked until it's tender enough to fall apart, fruit sauces, nut butters, oatmeal, cream of wheat, soups. That's about I can think of as I sit here eating a bowl of Fruity Pebbles. tracibenn 12-17-2005, 03:02 PM Gerber makes mashed potato meals that are pretty good. They also make carrott and sweet potato mashers. Janette 12-17-2005, 08:26 PM Apple sauce and other fruit purees, cooked vegies, white bread (probably minus the crust), yogourt, jello, tofu, cheese. jojo 12-18-2005, 07:34 AM i may be wrong but i do not think meat an pasta are considered soft solids. in adults, when treating dysphagia, soft solids means purees, to avoid choking. meat should be mixed with lots of mashed potatoes, no chunks as this promotes choking. pasta is slippery and dangerous- my niece recently vomitted and threw up a ball of whole spaghetti and choked on i- she had played slurping it at dinner! if in doubt, ask your doc what he meant. jojo -occupational therapist KaitlynsMom 12-19-2005, 12:04 PM My Dr told me to give my daughter pasta, like elbows, since they are soft and she would choke. She said to way overcook them too. I think you have some great ideas here though! Good luck! |
