Just curious which, if any, you use for your GERDling. Emma's ped wants us to use it at night b/c it lasts longer than Tylenol.
No need to respond, unless you want to. Just vote. Thanks! :-D

I picked Motrin but I actually use a store brand most of the time.

I couldn't vote. I choose Motrin for at night b/c of how long it lasts, but sometimes use Tylenol with the kids during the day.

Oops...I should have had a choice to use both. Sorry.
Thanks for the responses. I've been using Tylenol and our ped said that Motrin and Advil are better at night. I think I'll stick to Tylenol during the day and Motrin at night.
DH could only find Infant Motrin so that's what we used. I hope it helps her sleep better. She had thick drool on both sides of her chin tonight from her teeth. She looked like one of those dogs that constantly have it dripping off their jowels....hmm. I can't remember the breed.

Tylenol and advil here, sometimes staggered for fever management if required.
It has left my brain again which one is not so good for refluxers and I have misplaced the list from the pharmacy. Perhaps Janette remembers? We had it posted once or twice before.

I'm glad you posted about this Amanda... I was wondering the same. I keep stocks of both Tylenol and Motrin because our ped said that if you use one for too long, it stops working. It's better to switch back and forth once in awhile. Lauren is currently on Tylenol, but maybe if I give her Motrin, she'll sleep better at night.
I give Tylenol during the day and Advil at night (B gags on Motrin, but seems to like the white grape flavor Advil).
I do notice that she sleeps better (for her--2 hour clips!) when given Advil at night.

the kids specialist said never to use advil. He said the gastro drs call it ulservil. He told me it would eat holes in his intestines.

From what I understand, Motrin and Advil are the same thing. We use Tylenol and Motrin (usually Motrin at night since it lasts longer).

I was to the pharmacy tonight to pick up suppositories as my silent refluxer yaks up everything right now including his antibiotics and the pharmacist reminded me not to use advil for my GERDling as it is known to cause ulcers. I could not recall which one it was that was the potential problem, but it is indeed advil. I love staggering the meds when needed, but Iain is not responding so well to it right now anyway so I have moved to suppositories and so far so good with the gravol and acet suppositories.
Just watch how much advil you use with your GERdling.

I didn't vote because both motrin/advil works well for us. Tylenol just doesnt cut it though.
