What do you give your GERDling? Our ped wants us to use either one at bedtime for Emma's teething and throat/nose pain.

Thanks!

No need to respond, if you don't want to. You can just vote. Thanks!

Hey Amanda--There isn't an option to vote. I mentioned this in a post of yours just a sec ago. We give Noah one dose of Tylenol with his evening dose of Prilosec. Then, if he wakes and seems uncomfortable, I give him another if its been 4 hours. You could do both if it seems pretty bad.

I think motrin works better for pain.

motrin worked well with us, Tylenol wouldn't cut it. But, I have heard alot of GERDlings have trouble with motrin/advil.

Noah would be one of those. No Motrin for him...at least for now!

My sister is a third year medical student, and I recently asked her which pain meds I should take for what. Most of it was medical "blah", but she did say that the big difference between Motrin and Tylenol is that Tylenol cannot help bone pain. So, if the source of pain is a bone, you should take Motrin. Like if your arm is aching because you slammed it in a door, or if you turned your ankle maybe... Make sense? Also, Motrin is the only thing that will decrease inflammation, which Emma has, so this might be a good one for her. She went on and on and on, but this is what I picked up. Hope it helps.

I use either one, depending on what's bothering her. Like tonight, she was pulling at her ear and crying...I pulled out the big gun and gave her a tsp. of Motrin. Most of the time, she has about one dose of Tylenol every other day or so whenever she's crying and I've tried all other avenues.

That's weird about the voting. I can see the choices, and two people have voted already. Odd.

Sorry about that, but thanks for your responses.
