My dd 4 months old has been on zantac 1.25ml 2x's a day for about 2 months now and has had her formula changed numerous times she is noy on isomil advance. she was eating a little better when we changed the formula but now shes starting to go down hill again. she is still arching when feeding and spitting up hours after eating she typically eats like 4 oz every 3 hours but sometimes less and sometimes more. over the last few days her voice has been getting very raspy. and she has a lot of wet burps and frequent hiccups that sound horrible. she doesnt spit up much but when she does she usually cries and gets pretty upset. and her breath always smells like vomit. any suggestions on types of medicine or anything i would appreciate.[/img]

Hi has she had her dose adjusted lately Maybe it would help her if you could give her the Zantac 3 times per day instead of 2? My Gi said that the Zantac wears off pretty quick. Connor weighs 14.5 pounds and he takes 1ml of Zantac 4 times per day. That way it's constanly in his system. Have you tried any of the PPI's yet? (Prilosec or Prevacid) A lot of kiddos on here have done great on them! I hope your little one is feeling better soon!

Sarah was on prevacid which is similar to zantac but it didn;t seem to work well. So we added prevacid which seemed to work much better for her. Other people have done well with prilosec which is also a PPI.

Wow, the same dose for 2 months?? has our kid gained weight? Zantac is VERY weight sensitive and needs to be adjusted accordingly! We have never gone more than a month without a dosage change... you should call the Dr.

Good luck and hope that helps!!

If she is almost 15 lbs and only on 2.5ml a day, she is undermedicated and thats prob why it isnt working. Her dose should be anywhere from 2.27 (that being the MINIMUM) up to 4.55 ml a day. I would see about getting the dosage raised.

I was going to say My daughter is over 15 lbs now and she is getting her dose increased this week from 3ml a day right now. I'm going to ask if we can do 1ml 4 times a day in each of her bottles... I think it would help.
