Hi everyone! I was just wandering about the different formulas out there. I am currently pumping and bottle feeding. My supply is really dropping though, and I'm only getting 2 oz per pump session. I've been going through my freezer stash. I'm going to end up having to supplement with formula before to long. Right now I am using 1/2 scoop of soy per bottle just to boost the calories. I dont know if using that formula on a full time basis is good for a reflux/non-eater. I have no idea if Noah has any food allergies or intolerances. I know there is also Nutramigen, Alimentum, and Neocate, but I have no idea what is different about them. I think I want something that is as close to breast milk as possible (easy to digest). Since I'm concerened about Noah possibley having slow digestion, I dont want to clog him up more. Ofcourse I cant get a recommendation from a GI since I dont have one . (Still working on that issue though.)

thanks
Lisa

I guess I THINK you should start with a regular milk-based formula, and then work your way through them if there are known problems. Now, if he has a digestion problem like DGE, there might be a certain formula that helps--I don't know, but I'm sure someone will chime in. We started with milk-based, then lactose free, then soy, and then Alimentum. Actually, yesterday we began milk-based again after having some aversion problems, and since Noah has no known allergies either. It seems to be working out okay so far, but he's been off it for almost four months.
