Oh, Noah! So he really is not handling food at all right now? Is it still going right through him? I hope the procedure goes well and Noah sees improvement really soon.

Thinking of you and praying that things go smoothly. Sometimes life just is not fair.

If prayers can heal, Noah will be well very soon. We are all praying for you.

Hello All,
Well, Noah is just being a little stinker right now. he always ends up with some big medical ordeal right before Christmas. I think it is his goal to land up in the hospital for Christmas. He is just a mess, we are hoping once we get over to UCLA next Wed, the 22nd that we will have a better idea if what we are up against. For now it appears that he is having a hard time for several reasons, besides the totally out of controll silent reflux thats happening, the fundo being in really bad shape, the sinus infection and the massive ear infection that just won't budge away (he's going on 4 months with that one), the major GI side effects from all of the antibiotics, the coughing, the pain he's in, You would think by now someone would have something to help these kids.

Oh my goodness, wow! Poor little guy? Your going to UCLA??? I didn't know that. Who are you seeing? I was hoping you could respond to someone in questions who is asking about LA GIs. I know you will have the best advice for that.... :) Keep me posted. I wonder about you two!

Erin,
Yes!!! The day is finally approaching !!! We are thinking of it as a huge Christmas Gift, how sad is that ?? we are seeing Dr. Amendt, (I think you spell it like that) he's supposed to be the best with multiple fundo kids. We need to be there at 9:00am. Is it crowded down there in the am time ?/

Oh Lord yes, to us anyway, it may not mean a thing to you, but it is bad. INSANE is more like it, I could have walked faster! And the parking and finding the right building...Go early and if it isn't bad you can walk around a bit, or go say HI to Dr. Atkinson for us:xmas1: There are 3 buildings there. So, of course we went to all the wrong ones LOL

Are you both in the LA area? Maybe add to your Christmas gift a nice room at the nearest hotel the night before :sign7: That is one of the biggest reasons I am out of LA. I felt like a monkey in an over crouded cage. :blob3: Wish you luck and we are praying for that mirical.

We are planning on leaving early beings we come into L.A. from the Orange County Area so the traffic SUCKS !!! I figure it will take about 2 hours to get there and then about an additional 30minutes to figure out where to go once we get there. We stay out of L.A. at all costs. I've never been to that hospital but, the map they sent us to find the building is so confusing :)

I you are real concerned about finding where you need to go I could ask my mom for better directions. She is very formilure with UCLA and might have some ideas for you.

Sue, that would be great the paper says to be at the Children's Health Center, at 200 UCLA Medical Plaza Suite 265 @ 9:00am. Erin, the map quest shows it will take us almost an hour to get there on the freeway, so I figure we need to give it 2 hours to get there with traffic because of the stupid freeways, you know how lovely they can be. So, I guess I just need to know how long once we get in the local area of UCLA will it take to find the right building, cause it says if you are late they will reschedule you. Plus it says to be 15 minutes early for the appointment. Hmmm, I hate L.A. soooo much and the wonderful 10 freeway, in fact last summer I was working part time for what I thought would be a nice break from the kids 2 days a week for a few hours, it turned into me being the errand girl for a guy that sent to L.A. every stinking time on the 10 freeway. i always told Tim I wanted a shirt that said, "I love the 10 Freeway" :)

Boy, you have been through a lot again. I hope that the trip goes well for you and that there are NO traffic issues! May you pull the very best of the best GI and have Noah and your family home in time for a nice and peaceful Christmas.

Hmm, we had good and bad as you know how that goes. I would plan an hour once on the 10 just incase, that will hopefully give you enough time to get through the 10 and figure out where to park and go....

OK, rethinking this, maybe even 2... but that may be too long.

Is there anything cool to see down there if we get there too early ????

ElisMom
12-15-2005, 02:36 PM
NO.... LOL

The street heading into it has shops and stuff if you get there early, MdDonalds I think too, Oh, there is a little museum on the corner... Hmmm you could try that :-D

I am sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I hope I am not to late as I don't know when you apt is but my mom said that UCLA is very confusing so fallow directions that lead you to the hopspital parking and ask the very first person you see how to get where you are going. She also said that you can't be to careful with the time because you never know how the trafic will be since you are having to get there around rush hour. She did say that they will only give you a five minute window before they reschedule.

She said to tell you sorry she wasn't able to be of more help
