Has anyone tried flavoring the formula? Samantha's meds are flavored by the pharmacy, so I'm assuming the flavors aren't dangerous or bad for her health. (?) Could I try getting some flavoring added to her formula? Maybe that would get her to drink more since in case she has an aversion to the taste of her Nutramigen? Any thoughts?
She's only taken 2 oz all day so far :(

I hated days like that! We never tried flavoring the formula, but our feeding spec made similar suggestions. I'd say check with your ped or nutritionist first, but I bet it'd be OK!

Have you tried other foods to flavor it? How old is she? We used foods in the blender to disguise the taste of formula...yogurt and avacado are good to use, it also adds extra calories.

She's 5.5 months. That's a good idea to blend foods. We've only tried the yellow veggies and bananas so far. But I'm thinking of trying avocado in the next few days.
Is she too young for yogurt?

She could prob wait a month or so with yogurt, but I'm not entirely sure. Try bananas in the bottle if she has already had those, or the avacado. Avacado is very high in calories and fat and what we use to supplement Alexys.

I covered this with my GI today. I confessed to adding some juice to Noah's bottle today, and HE DRANK IT. Well, he drank an ounce and then was out-cold-mouth-breathing since he'd worn himself out from being so hungry but unable to eat all morning. Anyways, he said its not good, but I should do whatever's necessary to keep him hydrated, and if that meant adding some different flavor, it was okay. He went on to recommend a formula switch, but I'll always resort to the juice trick if I need to. I added 2 ounces of banana apple juice to a 6 ounce bottle. He never drinks this much, but I was rushing, and that amount made the bottle smell better...

If she's on Nutramigen, you shouldn't do yogurt. If she's not eating, that probably means she's in pain and she associates her formula w/ pain. Have you tried Neocate to see if she'll drink more of that and see if the pain goes away? There are ways moms flavor Neocate to get babies to drink it, but they generally consult a nutritionist first.
