I have a 19 month old daughter who has had reflux since birth. She recently was diagnosed with silent reflux after we thought she grew out of her baby reflux. Before, I would hear her choking at night and get up to help her through it (I became a very light sleeper after she was born). Now, I am paranoid that the reflux will come up and then go down the wrong pipe since she is not actually vomiting it out anymore. I have no idea when she is refluxing, unless she cries.

Has anyone tried the AngelCare monitor or an apnea monitor? I liked the BabySense monitor, but it says it is for babies up to 1 year old and she is 19 months old. Any suggestions, comments??

I have the Angelcare sound & movement monitor for my twin boys. They were prem and I was absolutely PARANOID about SIDS. They were the BEST thing I could ever have bought. Stephen had several blue episodes when the monitor sounded due to apnea- I would otherwise never have known. It has given me TOTAL peace of mind and I take them with us whenevr we travel (they fit under a portacot mattress just fine).
As far as I am aware, their is no age restriction for the Angelcare one as it has the sensor pads underneath the mattress... the lady in the shop told me you could even use it under a normal mattress on a bed (so long as the base was firm). Not sure if that is true or not.
I know that Noah's Mum has one too

AngelCare monitors are awesome! It gave me such peace of mind. We did have a few false alarms, but you can adjust the sensitivity as needed. It is super easy, and we found that it works just as well on an elevated crib. :D

My dd sleeps on a wedge. Does it work under one of those? Should I put it under the wedge, or under the mattress??

Yes, the AngelCare monitor is the best. I've only used it under the crib mattress and packnplay mattress, but it might work under a wedge. You would just have to test it. Its gone off twice while Noah slept, but both times, he had just wiggled against the side of the crib, and it wasn't picking up his movement. I've also heard they work under a regular mattress, but I have never tried it. Check out their website. I think its just www.angelcare.com.

We use the Angelcare also and love it. It gives me peace of mind! Especially recently when Connor had a really bad cold and was coughing and gagging during the night! We have had a few false alarms but it was because he had scooted to the bottom of his crib.
