Okay, now I understand that DGE and gastroparesis are the same however, just from experience I have learned that most Dr.s use the terms for different degree's of emptying and lack of contractions. Like for instance with Noah he at one time had Delayed gastric Emptying due to the pyloric valve not "working" correctly and we were told it meant his stomach didn't empty quickly enough, thus causing food to hold out longer. Then after Noah's "surgical injury", he was diagnosed with complete gastroparesis, with no hope of recovery. Noah has the paresis that lots of diabetics get where the stomach muscles fail to contract at all thus even having a pyloraplasty intact the stomach still only has gravity to empty it and due to the fact that the stomach has 1000's of folds in it with complete paresis the stomach indures more damage than in DGE as with DGE the stomach still contracts but the pyloric valve is not functioning correctly. Direct if I'm mistaken, you would think that the pyloric valve not functioning and that the fact that the stomach is in fact a muscle not an organ and that the pyloric valve is just merley a part of the stomach that they would be referred to seperatly, Did I just make no sense here ??? I mean I have looked all over the place for different terminology regarding the two very different medical problems but I just can't find it. Oh, now that I have taken up all you guy's time here's a fun fact. Did you know that you can live a perfectly normal life without your stomach ? It is merly a holding tank for food once you have a pyloraplasty done. Can you believe that ? Also did you know that there are actually pacemakers for stomachs ????
