Ok you little perverts...I'm talking about DS have an issue w/cookies and such. tisk tisk
Seriously though, I am scared to death to give Zac a biter biscuit or any cookie/cracker w/out breaking it up into pieces for him. It seems that evertime I give him one whole, he tries to shove the whole piece in his mouth. I always end up taking it away which leads to a FIT. I don't know how to solve this as I dont want to break up his foods forever! Is this normal? Do I just keep trying to see if he will bite it? He bites the biter biscuits sometimes but takes off WAY more than he can chew.

 I didn't even think of the "other" meaning!

Yes, it's normal for babies (ie, unless they're orally defensive) to over stuff their mouths. You could try hand over hand to help him to take smaller bites, and just keep reminding him "little bites". He'll get it! The main thing is that he's not choking when he does it.

Cady just now got the hang of taking little bites of crackers and things. Before now, she'd shove half of it in and end up choking. She just started taking bites on her own. I didn't really do anything to teach her, except take the food away if she choked on it.

It is very age appropriate for what Zac is doing. In time, he will learn to take smaller bites. For now, I would break them up, but offer him the big cookie from time to time and have him take a bite himself to see how he is doing. By the way, Iain would have fits if we broke things up in front of him, so we started to prepare things in the kitchen and bring them to him prepared already. Sometimes that helps and makes them forget that they are missing anything.
