As we are approaching to venture into most any foods and such for zac man...I'm wondering about cinnamon. Has anyone heard about that being an allergenic or not really? I think not but wanted to ask first of all as it is added in some oatmeal cereal that I bought jarred. I think he has had it w/peaches before but not enough to watch for a reaction. I think I'm being quite the pussyfoot about introducing table type foods. I'm so nervouse that he'll choke. I break his cookies into little bits for him because he just shoves the whole thing in, if not! I bought some sugar free jellO to try today...nothing wrong w/that right? It just makes me nervouse to see all the ingredients as up until now his foods have been so natural with simple ingredients.

I wouldnt think there is anything wrong with cinnamon... beechnut has Stage 2 Apples with cinnamon or something like that so I would imagine a very small amount would be fine.

I wouldn't go dumping it on his tongue or anything lol :)

Good luck with the Jello!!

Ditto what Michele said. One of Lauren's favorite fruits is the Dutch Apple Dessert with cinnamon. She's had it in a couple of other foods too and it doesn't seem to bother her at all.

Jello... that's a good idea. I may try that. Let us know how little Zac Man likes it.

Yo Baby apple yogurt with the cereal already in it has cinnamon in it. Tastes like pie!

I hope it's not bad that I bought some of that for Kaitlyn lol I only give her one a week but since she is eating the 4oz stage 2 jars at a sitting now I figured she could try a YoBaby. I didnt know it had cinnamon in it!! Anyway, she likes the YoBaby's but I dont want to over do the dairy thing so I dont give her them often.

Just wanted to ditto what the ladies said - I don't think cinnamon is a problem. Actually, cinnamon toast is a fav of N's.

As for sugar free jello, you may want to be careful, because they usually have an artificial sweetener like aspartame in them. It can cause problems in some people. It is easy to make your own jello, though. Just get a box of gelatin, and add white grape juice (or another juice). :D

I'm crazy-paranoid about food, too. I actually just avoiding buying a jar of some cereal/fruit mixture because there was cinnamon in it. I didn't think it would cause a reaction, but I wasn't sure. I also didn't realize about the cinnamon in that flavor of YoBaby. I tried it with Noah a few times, but he hated it anyways. :(

Thanks ladies....boy I was begining to think that everyone started boycotting my posts. :( THEN I realized my settings are all screwed up again adn I'm not getting new reply notifications...I hope i fixed it..we did the cinnamon anyway AND jello yesterday. He was cool w/the jello for the first 5 bites...then started spitting it out.

We also did the oatmeal w/cinnamon and i threw some cheerios in it to get soggy...bad idea. I guess he really does have an issue w/lumps mixed in w/pureed foods as he eats both separately w/no prob.
Thanks again!

Sorry...late posting.

Our doc said cinnamon was okay, and we make jello with juice, like Sheila. Emma likes it! :D

I checked for aspartame  but the juice is a great idea...a box of gelatin...like ...they sell plain gelatin or a flavored any type of jello and just use juice instead of water? i'mconfused.

Exactly! We used white grape juice instead of water which was nice since it doesn't stain. I think the gelatin box has the juice jello recipe, but it is basically just juice instead of water... :)
