Noah's Mom 11-22-2005, 06:49 PM Thanks Sara. I'm working on introducing the sippy now, but no luck, as with everything else food-related. If I could find one that flowed super slow, I'd be set, but I've purchased every d*mn one that exists on this planet, and they all are too fast for Noah... Imagine that... :?
Just wanted to say good luck tomorrow with Zac's eye procedure. Please update us tomorrow or when you get the chance. I think we'll be doing this in the near future, and I have no idea what it entails. I'm sure Zac will do just fine, though!!!
Samuels mom 11-22-2005, 06:53 PM Sippy cup???
Sam doesn't know what to do with it. I have showed him multiple times with no success.
ZacsMom 11-22-2005, 07:36 PM Thanks Maggie, i'm so nervouse I have actually thought of backing out of it as I KNOW I'm goign to cry seeing him go through that but it needs to be done :?
Sarah,
I think there's info in that article about helping them get use to knowing how to use it.
AlexysandAaronsMom 11-22-2005, 08:46 PM We tried EVERY sippy cup possible, and wouldnt you know the only one she wants to use is the last one I bought and the cheapest  She LOVES it. These cups are really nice though, because they are very small, and easy to hold...plus they are VERY cheap.

ZacsMom 11-23-2005, 07:25 AM wow, that's a cute little cup! Does it have a valve for slower flow or no?
AlexysandAaronsMom 11-23-2005, 08:43 AM No, it is one of those valve free spill proof ones....somehow it doesnt leak and I tried taking a sip from it and it is really slow. Here is a pic of Alexys using it

ZacsMom 11-23-2005, 08:51 AM Amy she's getting sooo big!! Can't believe it! She looks like such a big girl, and tall.
EmmasMommy 11-23-2005, 10:20 AM That is a neat cup. :D
Alexys looks like a toddler already!
AlexysandAaronsMom 11-23-2005, 10:30 AM Yes she does, she is too big for her own good  She DOES look huge in that picture, or maybe its just that she is starting to lose that baby look...she is sooooo long I swear that is what makes up most of her weight.
LaurensMommy 11-23-2005, 10:52 AM Amy, I like these cups too. I have the regular ones w/out the grips. But, I find that mine tend to leak a bit. If I hold it upside down, it drips out. Does yours? We've also tried them all. The Gerber ones with the hard spout works well, so does the Avent soft spout ($$$). The Nuby ones work ok for us. I think they are too long for her to be able to tip up. With the shorter ones, they don't have to work so hard.
Or is my little girl the only one that doesn't get that you have to tip the cup to get something out of it?
CadysMommy 11-23-2005, 11:29 AM Oh, that cup looks perfect for Cady. She has problems gripping and tipping the cups. I'm going to pick one up this weekend. Thanks for posting about it. I bet she'd take to that right away!
AlexysandAaronsMom 11-23-2005, 11:55 AM I havnt found them to leak at all...except the ones that she has really chewed up the spout  I know what you mean about not being able to tip and drink, This is the ONLY cup that Alexys can tip up, I dont get it because she can hold her bottle...but anyway these are nice because of the way they are shaped. Good luck with them Judy I hope they work for you! Oh and btw I found these at babies r us, I know wal mart has the big ones but not sure about the little ones.
Nathan'sMommy 11-23-2005, 12:03 PM Or is my little girl the only one that doesn't get that you have to tip the cup to get something out of it?
You're not alone! Nathan CANNOT understand that he has to tip the cup either, and he is just about 1! He will sit there and suck air forever. :? The only way he can do it is if I use the short cups and fill them all the way so that he hardly has to tip to get the water out.
He LOVES the straw sippy cups through. No need to tip, and he thinks it is cool or something because he drinks a ton with them...
