We're spending Thanksgiving night at my aunt's, so I will be bringing the Pack'n'Play for Noah to sleep in. I have a vague idea about how to incline it, just from staring at it all week, but has anyone ever done this? Any pointers would be appreciated. I'd rather have it figured out before I get there and panick when it doesn't work... I'm going to try it out today, but I wanted to check with you guys, also. :D

putting books underneath. using pillows to prop it from underneath..

I propped mine all the time just by using two pillows in it, one would lay flat while the other was propped up against it and I would lay half his body up the pillow so he was more in a sitting position and then add the blankies around to hold him there, of course I had to reprop a few times a night when he would get sick or puke!

So... sorry, thats the best I can do! That is probably not recommended for safety reason though

We put a bed pillow UNDER the thin mattress with a towel rolled up the same length as the pillow just where the pillow ends so there's not such a significan gap as the incline slopes...(if that makes sense) since the packnplay mattress is definitely not as thick as a crib its easier to feel the gap where the pillow stops, the towel just blends it in more to slope at more of an angle instead of just a pillow then a big drop ...does that make sense? I still have to put a pillow at the foot so he doesn't slip down but it works.

Totally makes sense to me, good idea!

panick???? I promise I can spell!!!! Sometimes I like to add an extra letter or two.

Thanks for the input. Both my playard sheets are in the washer, but I'm going to experiment when they come out. I think I'm going to try just building my typical nest with rolled up towels on the sides and a pillow at the bottom, and then put some books under the head of the crib. I hope that works, because that won't be so hard.

Maggie?
Books won't be too hard under a thin packnplay mattress?
I guess ERin said she did it, so maybe not. I woudl think a thick bed pillow would be better no? I don't think I'm a "know-it-all" I'm just thinking books might not be comfy. Erin didn't you have a pillow over the books or something?
I hear you though Maggie about being nervouse. Zac did wonderfully when we were displaced during the first hurricane (with his packnplay). It's been a while though so I dont know how he's going to do in MI.

Sara

I meant that I'm going to put books under the legs at the head of the crib. Not under the mattress. Sorry, I didn't phrase that correctly. Are you followin' now? :D

Maggie, we have Connor's pack and play elevated. I don't know if it's the best system but we put books under the legs at the head of it and one of those incline wedges under the pack and play matress also at the head. He does end up slipping down a little just like in his crib but maybe you can make a mini nest in there to keep him from sliding. Hope this helps!

I assume a pack'n'play is the same thing as a portacot.. so when we stay with my parents, I put books under the front legs and a pillow at the base of the mattress so he doesn't slip too far down.

LoL Sarah, I just commented on our different dialect and you mentioned "port-a-cot". Anyhow sounds just like what I do but I've put a pillow under the head of the mattress and at the foot so he doesn't slip down but i'm really liking this book idea...once I got what you ladies were talkign about!
