The bouncey seat has saved my sanity! It was a gift and something I had not considered buying. I popped my daughter in it and she took a 2 hour nap the first time! Now she is sleeps 7 hours straight in it at night. I'm afraid she's never going to be able to sleep anywhere else. The soft vibs and gentle bouncing are so soothing to her. Of course sitting half way up really relieves her reflux. The Ped said it was fine and to let her sleep in it as long as she is happy.

I've tried several times to have her nap in the crib. I get 30 minutes at best and it's often more like 5 to 15. I do have the end elevated but it doesn't seem to help.

She'll soon be 4 months and needing to learn to sleep in a crib.

Does anyone else have a baby addicted to the bouncey chair?

Hi Penny..
We were stuck in the baby capsule carseat. So, in order to transition (now don't laugh at this) I would swaddle them , put them in the carseat and then put the carseat in the cot!!! Then, once both of my munchkins had gone into a deep sleep, I would take them out of it and put them in the cot. Funny thing is, even when they woke for their night feed, I would put them back in the cot and all was fine! :?
I would start slowly.. do you have the vibration thingy on overnight? If so, I wuld switch it off. Do you put the bouncey chair in her bedroom at night? I would also make sure she's in her own room.
I found that tranistioning the night sleeping was much easier than trying to do the day naps.... they managed being in their cots overnight at around 3 months but it wasn't until 6 months that I could it for day sleeps!!
Good luck!

Yep, I'm in the exact same situation! Joshua hated his bassinet and really prefers to sleep in our arms. He will do pretty well in the bouncy chair, sometimes we get a 4-6 hour stretch at night, which I guess is pretty good for a 3 month old. I did move his bouncy chair in to his own room and that has helped me to sleep. I don't use the vibration setting anymore and he doesn't seem to notice.

I've been trying to introduce his crib but I get the same result you do - only about 10-20 minutes and he's fussing in there. I don't want him to fear his crib like I've heard some kids do so every morning, I put him in there to watch the mobile and kick. He loves that - plus I can get a bowl of cereal!

My mom recommended putting his bouncy chair in the crib, with the sides of the crib up, of course. Haven't tried that one yet!

Good luck - I'd love to hear what ends up working for you!
