Do digestive probs/reflux tend to get worse in the early morn? Jadon either is up from 2-5am for the whole time or wakes every 1/2 hour to one hour during that time. Any suggestions for helping this problem?

Joy I don't know, but my son is doing the same thing....sort of. For him it is 3:30 am which I am sure you would prefer, but it still sucks trust me!

I have to either hold him to get him to sleep after that or get up every 30 min to lull him to sleep, put him back down and the he will wake up again in 30 min MAX. Usually I give up around 5:45 and he is up for the day. Then takes a good 2 hour nap at 6:30....so I know he is tired.....

Last night when he woke up at 3:30 ( his first night waking was at 12:15) I lulled him to sleep with picking him up and a pacifier (usually I feed him) and he slept till 5 then I fed him and put him down again by 5:45 (lots happened - poop, vomit, etc) and he slept till almost 7. I was in shock.

So I have no answers only sympathy. DS is 3.5 months by the way. and Love the baby carrier in your avatar - is that the mei tai? Cute!

I'm not sure, Joy, but my dd is 12 months old and doing the same thing--she's done this since she was tiny. She still awakens about every hour or so all night long; however, around 3am, she has a lot of trouble going back to sleep. I either have to hold her or go sack out on the couch with her next to me in order to keep her asleep.

I'm with Meg--all I can offer is sympathy! I promise that if we find a trick that works, you'll be the first to know!

Hang in there...{{{Hugs!!}}}

My daughter does the same thing all night long, from about midnight on. dh is going to ask about sleep apnea when he takes her to the ENT today.

Lesley... your DH actually takes her to the doctor himself? My DH would never do that. :(

He's a teacher and is unemployed until January. We moved in August, the wrong time of year for a teacher to find a job, so he's been doing all the doctor visits. It's turned out to be really great because there's no way in the world I could have taken off all this time. Catherine usually has one appt somewhere pretty close to once a week.

(((HUGS))) Joy. I have no words of wisdom either.. only cyber hugs as I know how horrible it is. We have been through that phase... and thta is all it seemed to be .... a phase. The boys are 10 months old now and Matthew still wakes at around 4am but goes back to sleep if I pat his butt and put his pacifier in. Will Jadon take a pacifier??

Thanks Ladies.

No, Jadon will not take a pacifier. I hope this phase passes soon!!!

You are not alone, Stella is the same way. :(

I try so hard to get her on a night time routine only every night she is up at 3 am anyways. Most nights she wants to go for her longest sleep at 5 or 6pm no matter how hard I try to keep her awake. *sigh*

Joy,
You're little "boss" is soooo cute!! Anyhow I just wanted to say we went through something similar around 4 to 5 months. Turns out I think he was going through a growth spurt and instead of making him go back to sleep I shoudl have been feeding him! UGH! He still gets up at least 3 times a week around 330 but he goes back down after a give him back his paci and shush him a bit. Sometimes w/a little crying. Anyhow I really don't know what advice to offer other than to hang in there. Is he sleeping in his crib? When I have had hellish nights w/zac recently after surgery, I put him in his swing and he calms and dozes off. I dunno what else ...a good shot of benedryL?? LoL kidding of course. :?

p.s..forgive me if i dont' respond again, I'm having post notification problems. I'll check back to see how its going.

Hello! Emily's wakings seem to get worse after 2:30 AM as well. Not sure why, but it's fairly consistent. She's 10 1/2 months now, so we're starting to think about CIO (though the thought of it makes me cringe!).
