Quick question--for those of you who use suppositories, how long on average does it take for you child to, uh, evacuate?

we use baby fleet, and usually it happens within minutes. MOst of the time she poops out the rest of the suppository, it doesnt even have time to dissolve all the way.

Hum, I think it took a couple hours to get things moving... For the glycerin suppositories, at least...

Thinking poopy thoughts for her!

Thanks for the poopy thoughts!!

The enemas usually take about an hour to produce something. The suppositories can take up to half the day (sometimes produce nothing at all); however, the BMs are usually a lot stickier and tougher for her to, uh, produce.

Just wondering if this was par for the course. :-)

Mary, if you use the glycerine/gel babylax suppositories they work within MINUTES and are fabulous!

We used glycerine/gel babylax suppositories
And he would poop within minutes, but the suppositories never dissolved so just hard pooh came out. I never actually had one soften his pooh for him. But it helped to get some of the back up out of there.

Exactly what I was going to say. Eric and Emma have/had similar poop issues! :(

I'm confused...when you refer to the glycerine/gel...what do you mean by 'it never dissolved'...are we talking about the liquid ones that you just squirt up there? That's what I use...but not sure what you mean by dissolving.

LOL
Ok zac's Mom that was just a typo. I copied and pasted from your post so I wouldn't have to spell glycerin suppositories and forgot to take out the gel part. LOL
Now you all know my typing and spelling secrets! My laziness gets me in trouble again! :)

Oops!

So sara
Did you have good luck with those. I wonder if they would have worked better for Eric. Did they soften the pooh?

We used the "bullet" shaped suppositories like Minnie. Since I quoted her post, I'm busted too.

I have AMAZING luck with them. They work everytime. However, they just help get out whats backed up in there, I believe. But whatever comes out afterward is always soft. For liek a day or two then it starts all over again (w/out meds that is)
