All this talk about no naps during the day and zac has NEVER been a good napper. I just realized, DUH (as amanda would say) that I think he's being woken up by his spit up/barfing. He burps up food all the time and even in his sleep. I think this is why he's not napping good because this wakes him! Just a thought I realized and wanted to share. Not too much I can do about it though. :? We're on the pravacid adn matress is elevated.
He was even burping up his breakfast and dinnertime!!! :x

I know this is old, but I wanted to say DS does the same thing. Usually the thing that wakes him is a burp, toot, or vomit. There are times when he can get a good solid 2 hour nap, but not often. He is still little so likes to nap for longer periods of time several times a day and when he wakes up afer 45 min to burp or whatever and he can't get back to sleep it isn't good.

Yeah,
when Eric was younger I could actually hear the Girggle gulp sound in his tummy before he even woke, then the marathon began.

Bethany is a fairly good napper; however, she is often awakened by an episode of reflux (she doesn't barf, just swallows it back). Since we have to give Maalox for stooling (1.5 tsp. per day), I split it into 3 1/2 tsp. doses: one before first nap, one before second nap and the last before bedtime. I notice that this does seem to help.

good luck!!!

Actually, since I've posted this he has been napping SO MUCH better. Seems like since we've been back from our hurricane vacation and the time change, he is napping longer for the most part. Occassionally I STILL have to get him and rock him back to sleep (i'm assuming it's acidy throat waking him still) but not too often. He use to ONLY sleep half hour chunks three times a day which is very frustrating. Now he seems to be doing about an hour in the morning and an hour and a half to two hours in the afternoon. This is MUCH more appealing!
