Shaes Grammy 09-08-2005, 07:40 PM Hi
I just wanted to say welcome to the boards. I don't know much b/c I am only the grandmother. I am sure others will respond soon. I will also send an e-mail off to Roni, as Shae-Lynne also has the DGE. I do know that the child obviously won't get as hungry b/c the food stays in the stomach longer, providing a feeling of being full.
Is you daughter on any meds for this? Are they considering surgery?
Best wishes
Jean
tnangel81 09-08-2005, 09:32 PM They have taken her off all meds they were not workin. We are waitin to get the aprroval from her insurance to speak with a surgeon. We dont know if shes goin to have surgery or if she does have it not sure which one they are goin to do. Her GI doctors not tellin us much about it because hes not sure which one to tell us about. And doesnt want to say the wrong one and have us get worked up. Thanks for any info u can pass on to us. I just found this site and i've been lookin for one since she was born in 2003. Thanks again and best of luck and my prayers are with ur grandchild.

tnangel81 09-11-2005, 02:23 PM the ones i can remember that we've tired are Reglan, Zantic, Erythromycin and Zelnorm. I will find out the others when we go back to the doctors. The Reglan and Zantic were together. She screamed when we gave it to her. so we took her off of it. She was on that one twice. Erythromicn made her throw up more. Zelnorm we started with 2 mg. cut in half twice a day. then went to 1 mg once a day then went to .5 mg twice a day.She was throwin up and had more loose stools. Shes very sentitive to meds.
ElisMom 09-11-2005, 10:38 PM Hi, my son had severe emptying problems... We tried erythromyicin and bethanechol with no help.
We eventually had the surgery done and found the bottom of his tummy was attached to his liver, it was corrected and he is now doing great! I am saying this to tell you it can help and if she is having problems still it may be worth looking into. We love watching the monitor and seeing the liquid actually moving through my son like it should now, :D . Keep us posted!
lucyinaz 09-12-2005, 05:44 PM I hope you are able to get some answers. My little man is on bethanechol. The GI and I thought it might not be helping too much, but when I tried to wean him off of it this past week, the reflux was worse... so it does appear to be doing something (just not much!). When are you consulting with the surgeon?
tnangel81 09-12-2005, 10:21 PM We are waitin for the approval from the insurance company to talk with the surgeon. Her G.I and pediatrician said they've dun everything they can think of to help her. Thats why they are sendin us to the surgeon. kinda a last resort. She cant take any of the meds. they make her worse. As of today she's 27 lbs and 36 inches at 2 yrs. and 8 months. THANKS EVERYONE for the help, support and ideas.
ElisMom 09-13-2005, 05:25 PM Thanks for sharing with us and keep us posted, OK? And, let us know of any more Qs you may have regarding any and all areas.
tnangel81 10-05-2005, 04:46 PM hey everyone. We had some delays with Ashlees insurance but i emailed Gov. Jeb Bush and got a responds back. and we shouldnt have anymore delays. and if we do i've got numbers from some top dogs that will make sure things happen.. We saw the surgeon on 9-29-05 she wants to do a test called E.G.G it watchs the stomach muscles. She had that dun on 10-3-05. they called 10-4-05 and said they found some narrowin of her esophagus. So she ordered and Upper GI thats on 10-10-05. Ashlee's had one already the 1st part of 2004. So this is something thats developedover the past 2 yrs. i'll let u know what happends.. sorry we havent been on shes had back to back doctor appointments. she lost 1 lbs in 2 weeks. she weighs as of yesterday 26.9 lbs. i'll keep u posted...

tnangel81 10-05-2005, 10:43 PM I didnt know what else to do just wanted some help and it worked.. I sent the email that i got from the head guy that handles all the insurance cases and his number to Ashlees GI nurse and she sent it to everyone at the childrens hospital they were so shocked. As was I... didnt think i would get a responds but i'm sure greatful that i did.. They said that some of the other parents emailed also but didnt get anything back. Guess it was just meant to be when they found my email. But it helped the others even though they didnt get a responds. It helped everyone that was havin the problem... So thats good...

tnangel81 11-04-2005, 11:39 AM The Upper GI came back normal. We see the surgeon again on the 8th of Dec. unless we get in sooner. To see what the nexted step is. Her Peds Dr. is sendin her to an allergist to see if maybe he can find something else also. waitin to hear when that will be. I'll keep u posted on what goin on. As of Nov. 2 she weighs 27 lbs.
tnangel81 11-11-2005, 08:08 AM got home the other day after Ashlee spent 3 days in the hospital. She had a tummy bug that mad her lose a lbs in less then 5 days. So they put her in. Her surgeon is goin to do the Pyloroplasty on her in 2-3 weeks once shes all better and she'll be in the hospital for a week. If any one can give me any information on the pyloroplasty that would be so wonderful and very helpful. I'll keep everyone updated..
