While waiting for the mic-key button, how did you guys stop spills from happening with the g-tube/syringe? I've spilled milk 2x today and am so aggravated. The first time the catheter came off the syringe and the second time Tucker kicked the syringe out of my hand. I've tried numerous things: taping the syringe to me while waiting for a feed to go down, putting velcro on the syringe and a burp cloth and putting the burp cloth over my shoulder....Nothing seems to work great. Any brilliant ideas?

Are you not using a pump??? Sounds like you are putting the formula in the syringe and letting it flow by gravity--Is that what you are doing???
If you are not using a pump, can you use a bag and let it flow by gravity???
The only thing I use the syringe for is for flushing the tube. Sam's formula goes in a bag and we use a pump--he does better when it goes in slow.

I am sorry that I am no help to you on this. Both of my boys were on the feeding pumps so never had to worry about what you are going through.

nope, we are not on a pump ever since he got the g-tube. I wonder if I can rig the kangaroo pump bags to work. I'll have to try that. He gets the mic-key on the 20th....not soon enough!

The kangroo bags should run by gravity--just adjust the roller clamp to adjust the speed of the flow. If you do not have a poll to use, a nail in the wall to hang the bag on will work just fine--us mom's have to be creative! Good luck!
