Just a short update. Yesterday was a great day for new syllable combos for Evan. In the past, he has only been able to put together identical syllables (ie, da-da, ba-ba, etc.) Yesterday, he was babbling away while he played, making new combinations that I've never heard from him before--things like ba-da, gwish, etc. We're just so excited!

That is terrific, Janette! Is the "Momma" still coming along? I am so happy for you and Evan!

Truly I hope that school will bring about even more wonderous sounds and words from him.

**happy dance**

It most definitely is, Leigh, but I'm no longer "Momma". We've progressed to "Ma", since he can't get the final consonant in. And believe me, these days he wants Ma to do absolutely everything for him!

Sounds like an absolutely NORMAL little boy to me!

Our guys call their Grandmother (my Mother) Ma. It is sweet, really.

How is the "swish" progressing? That is a really cool sound! Does he razz, too?

Cute, Leigh! The "swish" is more like a "sgwish". Lots of neat sound combos. happening still!

Sorry I missed your question, Lucy! I do lots of various therapies with Evan at home. Speech therapy is pretty much involved in everything we do. It has become pretty automatic. Evan is also being seen by a Speech Language Pathologist every other week for a shared hour.

Janette, that is so awesome to hear the new sounds. Get the tape recorder out!

When Shae-Lynne was here she made up a little song "boo boo boo boo boop" wiggles and all and I hear it playing in my head over and over. I am sure you are hearing Evans new sounds as well!

Great news!

Way to go, Evan!

Don't you just love when they're playing and babbling to themselves?

Absolutely! Especially when we've been waiting for so long to hear that babbling! I've learned not to imitate him when it's happening, or he'll stop. :?
