Hi all!

My son slept on a wedge for the first month or so, then moved into an elevated crib w/ sleep positioner and these definately helped but now he's outgrown them. Now that he is standing, crawling & trying to walk, he is more 'active' in his bed throughout the night than ever! He refused to be swaddled as an infant so anything that would serve to actually restrain him would be rejected in a hearbeat. He weighs about 27 lbs and is strong as an ox. Unfortunately he usually wakes up horrendously wheezy and coughing (in a ball down the end of the hill that is his mattress) by 6 am (this is often his worst time of day now).

This post may be in vain, but I've seen y'all are some very creative moms, so if anyone has a suggestion I would love to hear it!

Thanks!

Sorry...I don't have any suggestions, as Cady sleeps flat...and also ends up in a ball at the end of her crib. It's like a magnet pulls her there. In any case, I hope you find a solution.

My son was diagnosed way to late for us to solve that problem in the crib. At 19 months, we moved him to a bed and he started to sleep better some of the time. We still have to move him up onto the elevated part plenty though.

Oh, I have so been there! That is when life got difficult, as I speak Eli is hanging upside down off the couch watching teletubbies. I really dont have advice accept to keep trying to keep him propped. On bad nights, I would have to put him on the couch with me and reprop him with pillows all night as he slid down. He is a wild sleeper so it was not the easiest, you may have one on your hands as well!

Well the only thing I can tell you is what I do for Zac, he is only 5 months old though, so this may not work for your man.

We put him between the wedges and on each side of the wedges we have a tightly rolled bath towel so teh wedges cant get knocked out of position...to keep him for slipping down the hill I put a bed pillow at teh FEET of his bed so if he scoots, his feet push into the pillow and he doesn't go anywhere really> he's probably not as strong or mobile as your little/big one though> Just wanted to add what *I* do. HOpe you find a solution.

Hmmmmm, I'm not sure I have anything useful to add..... The boys now sleep in their cots on sheepskins with tightly rolled up bath towels either side of the wedges (like ZacsMom)... Matthew rolls over but has not yet tried to move around much in his cot. If anything, they tend to push themselves up the cot I have put the cots back on the level and they have managed quite well with this. I was sure that MAtthew would be puking everywhere when I put the cot flat (as he always did) but he hasn't. I was so surprised. It may be worth a go...???
