Quick question...if anyone knows...Zac is still strictly BFing and has had liquidy poops since birth. Since prevacid 3 wks ago the poops have been even MORE liquidy. However, the past couple days his poops have had a consistency to them (if that makes sense), sortof like playdoughish...is this just his digestive system maturing? Or something else? Any idea? I will ask ped at his 4 mo. checkup on Tues but just curious.

Sounds normal. BF poo can vary quite a bit, even from the same baby! You can call a lactation consultant if it would make you feel better. BF poo is runnier than formula poo. Once you put food into that little boy, um, it gets weirder still. :)

Prevacid will make it runny as well! The GI specilist told me that last week with Zoee. It is a side effect from the med.

Right, the prevacid has made his poo really runny, but my question is that the past few days they've become "mushy" wich is wierd since he's not been on anything other than that and breast milk. Ped said today that it shouldn't be mushy unless he's eating other thigns, which he's not, but she never answered me either...guess it wasn't a big deal? I dunno

Have you been eating anything new? maybe he's reacting to something you've eaten?

I'm not too sure off the top of my head what it could be although I have recently become a rice crispy treat FREAK! I'll brainstorm though.

How very eloquently put, Lucy! :lol: The first time that I fed Walker some carrots I was rather shocked to say the least! :shock: Tremendous amount of colours and textures that are to come so don't worry!

How are the poops now? Did you find the culprit?

It seems as though I was just so used to his "prevacid poops" (liquidy as all heck) that I forgot what his normal consistency was. They seem to be back to normal color, texture...and ALMOST smell :wink: I guess his body is adjusting to the prevacid (hopefully that doesn't mean that it will stop working soon!)

Great! I do not think that prevacid has the same problem with timing out that zantac does, so he is probably adjusted to it.

Way to go with the poops, Zac! (way to keep Mommy guessing! :wink: )
