Just curious as to how many of our kids have been scoped and whether or not the test was enlightening.

Daniel was scoped before they put in his G tube. I doubt it was as extensive as an endoscopy, but it showed that everything was structurally normal and that D had no tissue damage or irritation from the reflux.

Leigh, we have photos, too! :)

Gee, you got to keep the pictures, too? Must be an American thing as we saw them but were not offered wallets...

The pictures all looked the same, you know guts. Just his stomach one was so dark brown. :?

The endoscopy does not take long, Becky. Iain had both the upper endoscopy and simoidoscopy done and it was only about 50 minutes. Some other Moms waiting for upper endoscopy were done in 20 minutes.

Ours was only 20 minutes, but that included scope and G tube placement. Then it was another five minutes while he came out of the anesthesia before we got to see him.

Our pics were just a printout -- very high res, but nothing that fits in the wallet!

Couldn't vote because Ian's had both endoscopy & sigmoidscopy. I'm guessing if the body had another related orifice, it would have been scoped, too!

Emma will probably have to have an endoscopy after we go to her G.I. appt...(which I don't know the date of yet...they're going to call us).....

My Iain had both endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy done, too. I am sorry, I thought that we could check off more than one. Perhaps I should ask if we can change around the poll... Becky? Is it possible to vote for more than one thing? Or should we remove the sigmoidoscopy?

I don't know, Leigh. We may need Roni's input on this. I've only made a poll once myself.

I suppose you could make (or could have made -- not sure if you can change it now) and choice that was "endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy."

I know the issue of multiple answers has come up before when someone has more than one GERDling for which they need to cast a vote.

I've gone in and added "endoscopy and sigmoidoscopy" as a choice.

Hmmm...Guess it can't be added in after the fact. At least now we know. Sorry I couldn't help! Is there another way to do it, Roni?

Thanks for trying, Janette. I guess that I should have thought about it more before posting. Next time I will know.

My son had an edoscopy every 6 months to a year for 3 years. It showed leisions, erosions, fissure, etc. They had to stop the first proceedure because he was so raw and bled so much they said they needed to wait 6 months and try again. I have a wonderful 25 picture presentation from one a few years ago.
