I thought the tube was to help with the puking, but we are having just as much as before, and a lot more gagging before puking. I am going to call the dr today but I was just wondering if anyone has any info about this. It's kind of discouraging since it's the whole reason we went ahead with the tube.

When Shae first got the NJ tube put in she was still puking a lot too, maybe even more often than before it was put in...but that only lasted about a week or two. I don't know, maybe it was just while her body was getting used to it or something. What rate do you have the pump set at? Is it a lot that is coming up, does it look like it's food or just stomach contents?

Same thing happens when we put in D's NG tube. In fact, he'd just gotten adjusted to it and it was time to change it, and now he's puking again -- the tube has come back up three mornings in a row now. Yay.

Oh yuck, Becky...That has got to hurt! I hope that Daniel's body gets used to it again, and that same with Alexys, Amy!

It's set at 10ml an hour...and it looks like formula, except more mucousy. It's alot, and its coming out with much more force than it did before she had the tube.

I took her back yesterday and they switched her from Neocate to Alimentum. (that stuff really smells like dog food) They thought I was nuts when I said she was still puking until she ralphed all over the doctors pants while he was holding her

Maybe it is just from her getting used to it, I hope so...if she is going to keep puking then there's no point in keeping it in any longer.

Good aim, Alexys, and good job proving your mom's point!

I love "ralphed". That pretty much describes it. I haven't heard that term in years, and it's the first time it has been used on here.

Sorry, Amy ... I just had to laugh! I've never made the connection to dog food, but you're right. I've always thought it smelled like dehydrated potatoes.
