I know I should keep DD upright after feeding (and do during the day and evening), but I just realized that in my sleepy stupor, I rarely do that and the later morning (2-5) hours are the worst! DD always eats sometime in the night (usually somewhere 1-3), but since she's asleep as she's eating, is it still necessary to keep her upright? She sleeps on a wedge, but maybe that's not enough of an angle.
Could this be the reason she wakes so violently at night?! Sorry to seem so surprised at this potential revelation, but I can't believe this is just coming to me after months of living with her like this.
Thanks!

yes, it could be, I would try propping her higher at night and see if that helps, reflux becomes much worse and painful especially at night when not propped up. And, if not propped well some, like mine, are prone to aspiration or ear and sinus infections from the reflux spilling over so watch for that.

I hope that the higher propping does the trick for you! Good luck and please let us know how it goes!

Well, I have to admit, that I sat up longer at that 2am feed with the boys in the eariler days and kept them upright. I was always worried I would fall asleep and they would fall on the floor...as I always closed my eyes! But I would hum nursery rhyme tunes. I know it is hard but the propped cot thing didn't work very well for us in the eraly days.
I was just wondering... does Isabella really need that early morning feed anymore??? Just asking, given her age.
Yes, I know it's exhausting, but the importance of that whole upright thing after feeding can't be overstated. And sometimes it's worth it to sit up with them on your shoulder for an extra half hour or so, if it means when she does get put down to sleep she sleeps better.

Yes I found propping baby beside me in bed in the centre semi-seating, bubs was upright but dosing too, (hey one makes the most of it lol).
