OMGosh, Sarah B...For the first time ever, I'm really glad that Evan vomitted after the upper GI, as we weren't stuck with the barium cement poops!

 Wow, I am lucky, Zoere just had normal poops after her barium swallow.

ROFL, "normal" poops is kind of a misnomer in our house. Emily surprises me daily, and I am trying* to teach my 4 year old the mechanics of wiping...I feel like I am up to my elbows in poop all day long! Elizabeth is really well trained, no accidents in over 8 months, but she can't seem to deal with the wiping that well...and she has to learn before school starts!

I don't remember the white poop being hard, but it was almost a year ago, and I'm kinda braindead.

Wonderful about the poop! As Iain is supposedly going to have one of these done I will make note of the cement poop. As Iain is a silent refluxer I will assume that we will not have a good vomit afterwards....

LOL at least you have a good sense of humour about it!

I think Catherine pooped white for three days, and she was already constipated before her uppper GI!

Hi, yes for some the barium can cause constipation. If this seems to continue to be a problem a laxative bought over the counter will be of some benefit. I thankfully never had this problem with my three.

Aww poor baby. I know in an adult they reckon you should scrape the poo off the toilet bowl straight away otherwise it sticks like cement- TMI.. sorry!! Her poor bottom!! I guess the advice would be to anyone going for one, to make sure they put barrier cream on their butts first. Sarah... hope the poo stops real soon!!!!

It is like cement! Thank goodness Emma thew up most of it....yikes.

Is it unusual that she is just now passing the barium? She had the upper G.I. yesterday morning....it's almost 5 p.m. the next day....

Just curious.....

No, because it's so constipating, it takes longer to move through the intestines.

Nathan's white poops lasted a while too. At least they didn't smell as bad as his everyday diapers. :? Strange story - My husband works at a nuclear plant, and one of his co-workers had an upper GI done. The guy came to work the next day and all of the alarms went off. I guess the monitors in the place detected the radioactivity of the barium in his body. The guy couldn't come back to work for days. So my hubby learned to stay away from barium filled diapers. :)
