Poor baby Catherine! After we got her cleaned out from trying Enfamil AR, we thought we'd try Enfamil Lactofree. This would tell us if it was the rice in the AR or the milk base. Catherine totally constipated again in just about a day and a half of using the Lactofree. Today was day 3 without a poop and back on Alimentum so dh gave her a glycerin suppository. It caused a massive poop but she doesn't seem like she feels any better. She just stiffens her little body and screams. She's just fallen asleep after screaming her head off for two solid hours.

She didn't sleep at all over the weekend so she has to just be exhausted.

Oh no! Poor Catherine! Is there a formula that she can stay on that has worked for her?

Yes, we're sticking with Alimentum from here on out. It just seems like powdered chemicals to us, and we wanted to trial-and-error test for a milk protein allergy. Which we've confirmed she has. I stocked up on Alimentum this evening, lol -- powder, ready-to-feed and single serve cans! Of course, my bill was like the war debt! :sad2:

I'm glad to hear that there's a formula that works for her! I know how much the cost stinks though!!! :(

I know what you mean about the powdered chemicals. I hate that Shae lives on Neocate, that probably doesn't have one natural ingredient in it...I just keep telling myself, it's nutritionally complete. I've asked before about making my own formula to give her but because her J-tube is so small I guess there's no way to grind up a steak small enough to fit through it...

(((HUGS))) to Catherine and Lesley!! Not nice when they are in pain and I reckon constipation is VERY uncomfortable. Of course, the ear piercing screaming for 2 hours doesn't do much for your sanity either :( :?
As for the "chemical" bit..we have to do the best we can. If these little angels can't ave the "norm" we have to give the next best thing. Roni, do you think Shae misses eating food???? DOes she ever say anything??
