Well, it always seems to me that we battle the 7pm bedtime and have lots of screaming from the boys. Well, I have found a calming technique that has really helped (well, it worked last night anyway)!!!! I read somewhere that for a calming influence in infants you should put your hand on their head- it imitates the snuggliness of the womb apparently. SO last night I tried it. I puth their hands together on their chest and held them firmly and put my other hand on thier head. AFter about 2 minutes, sure enough, they calmed right down and their breathing slowed and we were off to dream land. That was the easiest night of getting them to bed in many weeks!!!!! *phew* I also tried it out with them this moring when they were really grizzly. Sure enough, it took a few minutes more of screaming but they calmed right down. It took 3 goes with Stephen but it did work. I then put hats on them (to try and imitate my hand) and they both nodded off. I really hope this will continue to work. Not sure if it would work on older children though.
Shannon...I thought this may help you with Zoee.
