Hi, My son, Bailey, had an appointment with the GI today. We now have answers that he has cmpi, but she also said something about his chest, and there is a slight something that sags and this causes the wheezing.

Do you know what she is talking about?

Any information would be great. Thanks

Ryshia, sorry I missed this earlier this morning. Without knowing what it is that's sagging, I can't really speculate. Do you remember the term he used? Any other details? I'm happy to help if I can.

Hi, I just spoke to the GI again. She said it is mild laryngo malasia (sp?)

she said something about it being a floppy upper air way.

That's exactly what it is. Several of the kiddos here have had this problem. I believe Mary's Adam had laryngomalacia as an infant. You might pm her with questions. Laryngomalacia does cause some honky, croupy, wheezy sounds. Mild is good...he will likely outgrow it. Be vigilant when he's sick (colds, viruses, etc) as his airway could be easily compromised by swelling.
