Hey Lori

Thought I would ask this in the proper channels rather the harasing you on face book lol

Ok we have miki on a sats moniter at home and are awaiting a sleep study

So my question what is the number that you like them to sit on, and what is ok for dips and for how long

Miki seems to average sit at around 89 to 93 with some minutes above 93 ( not many at all) , and she has LOTS of dips to between 85 and 89 like that last for ages, and then also some bellow 85, She has had some really low ones but was for less then 2 minutes so not show on reports KWIM

So whats your thoughts on it.

Do you set alarm limits to 92 over there ??? we would be alarming ALL night at that KWIM she spend 300 minutes bellow 92 in 500 minutes

thanks

Generally speaking, we like to see sats greater than 93% when a child is awake, and greater than 90% when sleeping. Anything less than that is likely to require treatment. Less than 85% frequently will certainly require treatment. Are they thinking BiPAP again?

Thanks for the repply,

They are hopeing that puttin her on TPN wil help the sats a bit being that she wil have more engery to breath but not sure, If not then o2 and or bipap will be the plan, depending on the full study

The frustrating thing is that she isnt even trying to get her sats up she doesnt breath heavier or more nothing she just lies there not breathing properly and droping her sats

We are in the in clinic tomorow for HITh so i wil get them to page the consultant to see if we can get anything sorted to push the study forward or at least get her some o2 in the mean time

thanks
