Mag's been making herself burp for awhile now. We've been trying to nip it in the butt until tonight...
Mag was sitting on my lap and did her usual forced burps and I told her to stop it's not polite. She got upset with me and said I just don't understand. When puke is in her throat and won't go down she can burp in into her mouth to swallow it back. That way it's not in her throat anymore. :sign11: :sad5:
I guess repulsive burping is now acceptable behavior in our home.

:( That makes me sad that she's figured that out, Lena.

Poor Mag! She has her own yucky defense mechinism. :(
It's sad but at the same time I'm amazed at what she can say and what she knows about reflux. She informed her entire class that she has reflux disease and it makes her puke a lot so she can't drink juice. (they were passing out juice boxes and had to get a different drink for Mag) She will point out the scars on her belly and say that's where they fixed my belly but they can't fix it all the way yet so I still have reflux.
Yesterday she gulped down an entire 'juice box' (flavored water) and said I shouldn't have drank so much now I'm going to puke. She KNOWS.

Ugh, these kids are so smart. You know that makes me wonder about Owen as he always makes himself burp a lot too. Especially during and right after eating. He does tell me that his drinks go up and down his throat:angry7:
poor thing, maybe teach her to go to the toilet and burp and spit it out, toilet or sink or bin what ever is closer, I always carry a towel for miki too spew on, ( sounds gross i know but its beter then aspiration or covering her self, She wil sit and spew in it all day

Poor Maggie
makes perfect sense to me. Eric says "If I make a burp, then it won't be sick burps. If I don't make it come, then it's a sick burp."
So Eric is allowed to burp as much as he wants, as long as he says "excuse me"
I wish they had a switch, and we could just turn it off.:sad5:

That makes me so sad that our kids have to deal with this, just like when E said he had a tummy ache in his throat...it's just not right!!!!!
