I really like the gifts and the Thanks button~ Looks great though Roni. Much nicer on my XP rather than my mac though, it looks huge on that.

I really like it. It looks more modern and streamlined. I have not tried any fancy features yet - but I am not sure I would miss too much if it meant things ran faster.

Where are the gifts? I can't find them. I have User CP on the left and New Post, Search, Quick Links and Log Out on the right - with PM right above that. Where do I get to the store?

I think these are the things she has to add back in. I mean't I really like them can we please have them back KWIM?

I think I would prefer giving "thanks" rather than "rep". "Thanks" seems much more intutitive.

Also, I'm on just a regular PC and it still looks kinda "big" to me.

I would be ok without the gifts. They're fun and all, but I could live without them.

Yeah, I like the thanks button, gifts and all, but I can live without out it.
What I'm missing are the links to all the information at the top of the board.
I used them all the time to find info for new posters.
Now I'll have to go to the main reflux page and do it that way.
and when I try to click the logo to get to the main page it just takes me here, so I have to do it by hand.

I know we already shrunk our siggys, and the whole idea was to be able to give more information on our GERDlings there, but if we aren't using it like we should.....

I really like it being wide! I'm on my laptop and it's GREAT! I didn't even notice gifts/awards...ooops! I was just glad to be back! I'll get used to rep...I used to do it occasionally but kind of forgot about it, so I'll just retrain myself.

Ok, per my other thread on the thanks vs reputation I'm not planning to readd the thanks button at all. It's a hack that requires template edits whereas the reputation feature is a standard feature with the boards and is basically for the same purpose. I'm trying really hard to stick with as many standard features as possible so that the boards will continue to run as fast as possible. When adding reputation to someone you can simply click the button and add rep or you can click the button and type in a comment to the person saying thanks, or whatever regarding their helpful post. It's really a much nicer feature once you get used to it, anyway. To see who's given you reputation, click on your UserCP and all your recent rep points will be listed along with any comments that were made.

Re: the gifts. At the risk of having a mob after me with flaming torches, I don't think this is going to be coming back either. There are a couple reasons for this...the modification requires a whole lot of template edits (way more than even the thank you hack) and as I said, it's all the template edits that load the boards down and make it run so slowly. Secondly, it's no longer an active modification that's supported because there were too many security exploits. I'm going to see what I can do about finding an alternative that will work better but can't promise anything.

And finally, the good news.... I'll bring the awards back today.

Minnie, the IRD space doesn't cause any real problems b/c there aren't any template edits that are required. And yes, I will be adding the links to the top again but it's quite a bit of work, so I've been putting it off. :oops: LOL

If no gifts mean a faster site, I'm ALL for it! Whatever else makes things slow, I can do w/o, too. What about the pager? I don't know how many every really use it, but if it slows things down, it can go, too. I use it from time to time, but it's slow in itself, kwim?

This is more what I hvae been used to in the past. Why the change? I rather liked the old IRD ;)

BUT, yesterday, the threads I had not read yet, used to appear in read, until I read them, and now, they are blue - whether I have read them or not. I kind of liked that the ones I had yet to read were in red and the ones I had were in blue.

No matter what - I think the new format is EASIER and it is for sure way FASTER!

Is anyone else waiting a long time for smilies and to leave a rep .....everything is moving much faster for me but those things ...I am waiting a long time for them to open and to post once I have chosen one.

Nope...smilies are fine here and rep is almost faster than the thanks button was for me. It often took 4EVER for a thanks to show up, but that could have been the site or IE, for all I know.

I love the rep b/c I can actually thank for specific things!

I liked that we used to be able to download your sig pic from your computer instead of having to go download it in photobucket because I dont use photo websites...its ok though, I got it eventually...
