I mentioned that lately Brody has been pulling away from his bottle when feeding. I switched him to the next "flow" nipple and it seemed to help some (he must be getting less air or something cause now he's taking in 6 ounces at a time - he's going to eat me out of house and home!!)

He still seems to be pulling away from some bottles, but I've noticed it's only his first bottle in the morning, the bottle before he goes to bed and his night feed which is around 3:00 am....about 8 hours after his nightly Zantac dose. Do you think the Zantac dose just isn't lasting long enough anymore, KWIM? He gets his Zantac in the morning (he gets up, I give him meds, diaper change, get him dresses and hold him off as long as I can before I give him a botttle) and the same thing at night...meds, diaper change, jammies and hold him off as long a I can, then bottle.

He was about 12 pounds when he was prescribed Zantac. Not sure how much he weighs now, but I wouldn't be surprised if he was around 16 pounds or so (maybe more!)

Oh, and he ususally has a bottle around 4:30 pm and after that bottle, and those 3 hours until his next dose of Zantac, he constantly has wet burps. And this is the only time of day the wet burps happen.

He goes to the ped next Tuesday. Do you think I should discuss a increase in the Zantac?

Hope this makes sense?

Absolutely - I know immediately when Dani has gained weight - even an ounce or two makes a difference in the Zantac. I call her doc once a week with a weight check and they up her dose constantly.

Zantac is SO very weight sensitive that you might be right. I'm a bigger fan of PPI's though. With Lora we didn't even try Zantac. The ped went straight to Prevacid for her. :)

I don't know why that posted twice! GRRR...

We tried Prevacid first - Dani was on it for 2 months, and she did horribly on it. She is much better on Zantac. So, try an adjusted dose, but if that isn't cutting it, see about something else. There are many options, so keep trying. When little ones are comfortable it makes a big difference.
