Hi
Has anyone tried a chiropractor to help treat their little ones and if so with what results?
I made an appointment for my 10 1/2 old son Matthew with one for next week after speaking to someone who's daughter had reflx and colic and cried non-stop for the 1st 3 months of her life. After just a handful of visits to a chiropractor her daughter stopped crying, was happy and started sleeping better.
I spoke with the chiro today and he advised that when babies are born there can sometimes be spinal damage done when they are pulled out. My son was rather large at birth and I do recall they had a tough time getting him out--lots of twisting & turning of his head to get the shoulders out.
He has been on Zantac for 5 weeks with a break in there when he was switched to Prevacid (an allergic reaction got him back on Zantac). I do notice a slight improvement in his sleep and night waking --his reflux always seems to bother him at night. Probably because he was walking at 8 months and spends most of his daytime hours running around & upright.
He does still wake up during the second half of the night--arching his back, writhing in what seems like pain to me and just can't seem to get comfortable.
I am hoping the chiro can help make him more comfortable and would welcome any thoughts, ideas etc on the subject.
I will keep everyone posted on what if any progess we make.
Thanks!
Jennifer
PS-I continue to keep you all in my thoughts and prayers!
